Hi, really amazed to have found your video. Im invested in 18 grafted durian, sixteen types. Hawaii. Lava zone one. The trees look really healthy. 1100 ft elevation. Im growing D145, D168, PETRUK, MONTHIONG, Brunei suluk, sciongong suluk, D99, MDUR, CHANEE, SI MAS, AND SOME LOCAL SELECTIONS. They grow slower here, and we cant expect to get fruit earlier than year 7 or 8. I did them on raised mounds. Im 48 and its the best choice ever, i love the work. My other crops are chempedak and jackfruit, sapodilla, mangosteen, and more.

Thanks for the video, I watch it over and over again! Unfortunately I have no relationship to buy a farm for 1000+ trees. I'm about to do this because I'm incredibly addicted to durian. I think the biggest customer would be myself. When I lived in Aasia, I spent a significant chunk of my budget on durian. I would love to come by and learn the craft and set up my own Farma.

Not sure if the following information applies. I came across another video on persimmons. The person stated that allowing too many persimmons to be produced on the trees stresses the tree, and the persimmon tree may not produce the next year. Maybe some farmers that have durian that do not produce every year may need to cut back a few durians early and cap trees at a certain amount, and maybe you will have all trees produce durian every year. JMHO. Great video, and thanks for the info.
@TMDurianfarmer

That info applies with Durian also.To many farmers tend to do this ,It can also lead to the death of the tree .

WOw well done! Thats a significant amount of money especially for farming in that part of the world. I do understand there is a lot of costs involved too and durian is a high-maintenance tree. You probably need to employ a couple of people to take care of the trees and secure the fruits as develop. Clearly, you are doing this properly and based on good research and practice. Well done, wish you all the best and success. Keep us posted.

Durian farming depends on weather is labor intensive and takes a lots of care to produce good fruits. You must hire laborers from Cambodia mostly under age to take care orchards during season. My wife’s family got large farm near Trat airport. While visiting Chanthaburi in May we went to one of the largest farms and sample best durians. I don’t know how many trees they got but they own few mansions for different family members and climate controlled garage size of half a soccer field full of luxury cars. This year they sold 600 million baht worth of durian.

Normally buyers will come out and bring their guys to pick the fruit and give you a price per kilo and they haul it away.This year other local farmers got 120 B per kilo for grade a and b grades and c was 90B per kilo.These buyers export this these grades All your lower grade get sold in the domestic market and these buyers also come to you. So just counting fertilizer if you sold to a buyer would be about 12000 to 15000 yearly .But with a durian farm you will need someone to cut the grass often I pay 1600B every 3 to 5 weeks depending on the time of year.

Edit: I found another one of your clips that told me some disappointing information. Valuable and accurate..... but not what I wanted to hear. Thanks... I planted two 2 foot saplings last May 2022 on my girlfriend's lot in a rice village near Korat. I dug a 24 inch hole by 24 inch wide. Used bag potting mix soil with some sand and the already there clay mixed together with some banana stalks chopped up mixed in too. I made a mound about 10 inches higher than the plot. They get full sun from 10 am to 5 pm. They lost all their leaves since the transplantation. But have since grown back most of them and have twice as many new spots looking to push out more leaves. They don't look like your TREES. They don't look like they'll ever look like your trees. Think they'll ever produce? Is Korat viable for growing Durian? Thanks..... From a "hoping to become an expat" but enjoying extended vacations in the village for now....

@@chaniay-channel our max hight will be 5m we will top all our trees ..we keep our braches low 50 cm from the ground and prune the ends.we will only keep about 20 to 25 branches.when you top your tree all the nutrition goes to the braches makes them thicker .the idea of letting your trees grow tall is a old school way of growing durian in a commercial orchard we must think about labor and spraying the trees 5 m is max you can spray effectively .Trees that farmers let grow tall can't effectively care for them, labor costs too high and you get crowding in your farm .

Im in Bali right now. Just came across some "Durian Lokal" Pepito. Not sure if Lokal just means local or is a type of species. Selling in the shop for 125b per kilo. Not sure what price that would come from the farm, I would guess farmer getting good bit less than 100b a kilo of that….. Ive watched most of your videos before but never took notes on the various aspects. I will be doing this in the coming days, I hope you dont mind if I have further questions? One of the points I take form this video after watching the current for sale video is that you say 3 rai can have 100 trees yet the farm for sale has 12 rai and only 150 trees? Your talking about 750 trees for your farm for 11 rai…….. I might have to take a trip up and see some of these farms…….

@@TMDurianfarmer After watching you set up cost video, it would seem to me to make sense, if possible, to totally redesign that 11 rai in a more efficient way. The big cost is the land, why not reap the benefits of that land by doing it right. You mention somewhere in the region of 430k to set up your 11 rai. By using the existing trees in Mikes farm but transplanting them in a more efficient layout and planting another few hundred trees seems like a better way to advance that farm commercially?
