Don’t molest the original car, you can never get it back! My folks had a 1950 styleline convertible when I was young (born 1954). Light blue with a black top. I remember my sister and I riding in the too well and playing with the zipper for the window. My mom had a full length fur coat which was always in the well. No car seats in those days. LOL. My dad lived that car, but it ended up needing; a paint job, new top, seat covers, a ring job and tires. I remember my mom saying, years later, if it had only needed a couple of those they would have kept it. Instead they traded for a used 56 Mercury. Thanks for sharing, brings back so many great memories. God bless…

@michael931 yup. I see these cars in poorer condition go for 10k+. If I had to guess he paid probably $25k+ for this. Any less the previous owner didn't know what he had

Great car!! My Dad had 2 1950 Chevys. One was a Coupe and the other was a Fastback when I was a kid in the '50's. I currently have a '54 Chevy Bel-Air 4-Door Sedan. I kept the 6-volt system and installed a 6-volt alternator. It works great and starts up well. I have a modern am/fm/cd player with a voltage booster that I installed and it works fine. Good luck with your beautiful '50 Chevy!!! Vinny C.

Very nice find, beautiful car! If your gonna do a lot of night driving, sure upgrade to 12volts if not leave it alone. Power your devices with power banks or something. Definitely gonna look nice lowered and with new drums and brakes!

My first car, when I was 14 years old, was a '50 Chevy 2-door sedan. Dark green over mint. Had a 216 in it but also a 235 on a stand with a cam, header and Offenhauser dual 1bbl intake manifold. I never got it finished. Enjoy!

Great stuff! Love the car! My grandfather had a '49 and I had a '50. Especially love the original steering wheel, horn ring, and gorgeous radio. Mine didn't have those but I found them in a junkyard. Yours even has the original ground strap. Enjoy!

Nice Car homie, but Try to get accessories for a car like main a 1942 Chevrolet Fleetline Super Deluxe...just my stearing wheel I paid $2,400, hood Ornament $1,200, fog lights $1,600, fog light switch $125, GM Spotlight $600.... and the list goes on homie, is just some of the extras that I have. Welcome to the expensive hobie of car restoration.! 👍🏽👊🏽

Good job William. I have an observation, you mentioned that your car is a business coupe ! Maybe what i'm about to say, only applies to Fords, but in the Ford lineup , a business coupe has no back seat, the club coupe has a back seat ! Keep up the good work....Tom

You have very good taste. I always loved the '50 Chevy deluxe coupe and the '50 Olds 88 coupe in black or deep maroon. Very pretty cars with a solid look and feel. I too would leave it original as possible. A tasteful lowering can be forgiven. They do sit a little high in stock form, although I'm fine with that too. I believe the seat material has been redone. The original was a fine pinstripe. It looks good though as-is. I so agree the skirts are a must on these cars. It's like a '55-'57 Thunderbird with the skirts off - it looks like a missing tooth! LOL

LOVE those long-deck coupes! Have you ever seen the Father Larry Ernst kustom that was built in the Fifties? Larry was a Catholic priest that happened to be a big George Barris fan... And designed a really killer coupe that he had the Barris shop build. Nice ride you have there! Cheers!

you're wrong that those cars are stronger than a modern car. they have test crash test videos showing a 1950 bel air against a modern vehicle and the bel air completly is crushed and destroyed also killing the test dummy in the process. at first glance they seem stronger but they have no way to absorb impacts. no plastic or foam parts that can absorb a lot of the impact.

Thanks for the video - great car. It’d be great to see a video explaining more of the differences between the models in ‘49-‘50 (fleetline, styleline, standard, deluxe etc), and how things changed for the ‘51-‘52 models. Just a selfish suggestion for some content! Keep up the great car content - Subscribed!

I wouldn’t change it to 12 Volt totally unnecessary! I also, wouldn’t lower this totally original car! I would put on a split manifold with an 18 inch glass pack and a straight pipe! DO NOT Mickey Mouse with 12 Volt conversion! You would be sorry!
