Paul, this was really interesting, I’m enjoying your coms and punditry, just quietly, I’ve never felt more heavy hearted for anyone, that I’ve never met, as much as I did, sitting here in Western Australia watching THAT World Cup final ! I was gutted for you.

Those money just on the paper but that’s absolutely true most people don’t think about all costs around. Now is definitely more prize for major tournaments but is more expenses too…

Yup, income tax is theft. You do not own your labour when they steal half of what you earn...

Even £22,000 is a yearly wage for most, so a few tournaments is a nice lifestyle 🤔

Can they become millionaires thats such a stupid line obviously MVG has made over 13m just in tournaments won alone that dont include sponsors and all that

If you invest money and save money sensibly, you will be ok. Have to be smart.

I think the point is that there is a generally accepted assumption that all relatively well known sportsmen are seriously minted and multi-millionaires. Whilst this might be true of some sports such as football or golf, in many sports (including darts) that just isn't the case. The very elite in darts will be very comfortable and there will be a handful of millionaires no question, but most of the guys on the tour - many of whom are household names for those with at least a passing interest in the sport - are making a living but are certainly not millionaires or living a life of luxury. A good life for many perhaps, but not as wealthy as most would assume. Just becasuse you see someone on the telly doesn't mean they are minted.
