I love this! Thanks for helping OTs and potential OTs understand the possibilities with this great video. I have an adult mental health practice in Canada and I have an international coaching business. If you’re ever looking to interview someone like me, I’m always happy to connect. Collaborating and supporting other OTs is something I’m passionate about. #OTsRising

I have been working as an OTR in United States for 20 years now. It’s a rewarding field as it offers a lot of autonomy in regards to patient care. I started out in a SNF and worked the private sector for many years of yet heartbroken due to insurance rules. I currently work for Veterans Affairs and love it. I love it as I don’t have to deal with the buerocracy of the insurance companies. Salary in private sector is very negotiable. Range between 40 and 50 dollars an hour. PRN and travel therapist get paid quite a bit more. SNF pay great but offer very little experience to grow your skills

Hello, I remember once you had a site where everyone could see the pay of current ot’s and the field they have chosen. May you post the link, I cannot find it anywhere.

Hello, I am a student OT in Gold Coast Australia, I was just curious about if you think we will see the OT salary increase over time as our profession develops and becomes more understood by other health workers, clients and even other individuals more generally?

Prospective student here! Well, I plan on becoming an OTA. I appreciate this info because I’ve seen really exciting figures for what I’d make even as an ota, but later found out that those may not be realistic figures.

Omg I applied to a OTA program, I’m in Texas which usually say 50,000-60,000 in Texas I believe? Is this not a realistic figure
@TryingNotCrying
@TryingNotCrying 3 жыл бұрын
@@lee_rayyy58 ummm well I don’t have any personal experience (yet!) to back this up- but I have researched it a bit. And it does seem that this is a perfectly accurate figure for your area (although I’m sure it depends on where you are in Texas, also) but Texas is one of the highest paying areas for OTA in America (probably just bc the cost of living lol) So I wouldn’t consider it unrealistic at all for you to expect to eventually make 60,000 - however I’m not sure I expect that to be the starting pay right out of college.

From what I have heard, it depends on the setting, experience, location, and so much more. Really, I think it is best to look into jobs in your area and see what the pay trend is.

I am an occupational therapist from Latinomaerica but to work in your country it seems to me that you should study the master's degree in ot, how much is that master's degree worth and How long is the masters in OT? Thank you
@clara47630
@clara47630 3 жыл бұрын
The masters degree is a 2 year program. Now, most places want a phD which is a 3 year degree. The cost of a masters is around $60,000 -$80,000 but it really depends on what school you go to

“No all that has value can be measured in dollars “ RN has wide range of opportunities than an OT - RN has a start range of $60-70k with much upside dependent on region, OVer time and flexibility. Much more professional growth for a nurse versus OT. Nurses are in demand as are OT - however nurse are frontline where OT are allied health / auxiliar

@@LustPrideSloth what about base pay without overtime? I have noticed a lot of nurses retire early because of the demand.
@LustPrideSloth
@LustPrideSloth 2 жыл бұрын
Vincent Scott -sorry to get back to you this late,,,,,,nurses typically do not retire early and if so , it’s from a tenure and then collect pension while working at a more or less desired pace - nurses pay is very competitive and advancement include Management, , administrative , NP , APN, First Assist, sales , rep, executive
