Some companies that you’ve made over $600 in the year with them will send a 1099. But I’ve only had two companies do that, and it’s cause I made thousands with them

It would be smart to report any income that goes to a bank account because the irs may catch up with you later . It really does all matter in the eyes of the irs unfortunately so I'd get a professional tax preparer if your side hustle makes a substantial amount. 😕

So it depends how you're getting paid. I'm 29 I've been doing stuff like this probably since I was 18 or 19...back in the day everyone paid via cash in hand or a check. Currently most firms pay direct to PayPal, e-visa gift cards and few are cash. If you kinda use your judgment you could avoid having all earnings taxed. Unless it's ALL direct deposits ALL from same firm,kinda hard to trace every penny. You would have to be making serious bank in the same form to be audited

Yes they ask you the key questions. Basically only the questions that the brand cares about. If I said something extremely out of the ordinary on the survey then I will usually write that down in my focus group journal, to reference when I get a call back. But at that moment it slipped my mind but as soon as I said I didn’t use Amazon Music , I knew I messed up because then I remembered that the survey asked a bunch of questions about Amazon music so clearly they wanted me to be a user

I signed up with fieldwork. How long does it take to get called for them? do they also send you messages in case you don't answer? I get a lot of scam calls weekly so sometimes I don't pick up the phone

It depends on when the focus group is taking place. So it could be anywhere from one day to 10 days. Most marketing research companies will leave you a voicemail, but you should return that call as soon as possible because it will be going to the next prospect. Unfortunately, some of the phone numbers will come through as spam so it is best to answer the calls just to make sure.
