How Much Our High Mileage Lexus LS430 Has Cost Us

The repairs bills for our 2001 Lexus LS430 have added up - to thousands more than we paid. Is it worth it?

Hello, I am an owner of a 2003 lexus ls430 and can tell you off the bat I love the car and I will probably keep it till I crash it or it blows up. I wanted to mention about how if you were to learn to do the repairs yourself you could cut that cost into less than half 😮. Not saying it’s easy to learn this stuff but It could be worth doing your own brakes or oil changes. It would save you on monthly costs and it’s really not that hard to do. Stuff like the timing belt yeah that can be a bit of a scary one but what If i told you I did the whole timing belt job with a new water pump for $200 with oem parts. It can save you a ton of money. I did the brakes myself with all 4 rotors and pads from toyota It costed roughly $550 for everything. It takes about 3-5hours if your kind of learning. Took me a hour and a half with knowing what to take of and replacing. Super simple on these cars and hard to screw up

Yeah I think this guy can save a good bit of change on oil alone. Keep in mind I think it’s CAD not USD

This is a great channel keep the car going you know what you’ve got. Just try to fend off the rust and it’ll keep you for a long time. What a journey. I’ve had my 05 430 for over half a year been a super solid ride but yeah those tires aren’t cheap!!

Almost got one of these. i bought a 99 infiniti q45 with 80 thousand miles.my second one.probably spent like 700 a year on maintenance.i do alot myself tho.my first one got 200 thousand miles plus and still ran when i sold it. Hopefully this one does just as good.

I have a ls430. 2006 and do most of my own repairs by watching KZbin. I replaced all eight ignition coils with dense oem parts and Bosch double iridium plugs for under $300. I get 20 mpg in town and 28 on the interstate. Great car.

Wait how are you getting such great mpg?? Is it the things you have done to your 430 ? Because my 2001 430 get 14 mpg in town and like 22 interstate . I would love to hear how to improve my mpg . I would be very thankful for the information 🙏🏽🙏🏽

@@RealLBJproductions the new density ignition coils and Bosch double iridium spark plugs plus mobil 1 synthetic oil work together I guess. I am getting these figures from the cars onboard display. It shows tank average which resets each time I fill up.

I paid $14,000 for my 2000 GS in 2010. I've spent that on maintenance and replacing parts since then. Worth it? Yes, the car never breaks gives tremendous satisfaction driving and I just don't worry about how old it is or how many miles are on it (daily driven in Edmonton winters too)

You also have a car that is still worth $1500 or so.Strip that out of your costs and CPM will drop down.Plus insurance costs should be cheaper on an older car.
