The 3UZ-FE in the LS430 is one of the most reliable, beautiful and melodious sounding engines when freed from all the bent pipes that Lexus used to muffle the sound. My SC has had the mufflers and cats deleted and driving through tunnels is like, wow...Just wow...

I bought a low-mileage, fully-serviced Volvo once, it was such unreliable junk I told my wife don't let me ever consider a European car again. Have our 2nd Lexus now 2007 RX to go with our 2000 GS, Lexus from now on. Reliability and durability are number one.

As for reliability, two vehicles other than my Lexus’s come to mind. First: mid 80’s VW Jetta. Second: 2000 Honda CRV. Would I want to purchase another one of either of these again? Not after driving Lexus cars. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I very much miss my LS430. If it weren't for me buying a Ford EV last year, I would have picked up a post-face lift model. Great car. At least I still have a UZ in my 1999 SC400. I would never buy another Kia/Hyundai. Why are you both wearing sweaters? It is shorts weather! The Rivian EV's are awesome.

For the most part, Consumers Reports and J D Power are bought and paid for by the manufacturers. C. D. relies on consumers to tell them what's wrong with their cars. Unfortunately, most consumers are not knowledgeable enough to talk about real reliability features and complain about the audio system or something else that is a nuisance, but not really a reliability issue. Therefore, squeing the results. Yes, please stay away from all Chrysler and Stellantis products, along with Mini, if you desire reliability.
