Put in a new battery, don't let it sit for long periods without running it, and close the hood with some authority. These are all minor problems.

Your battery keeps dying because you're not maintaining with a trickle charger. Disconnecting the negative terminal like you did will help it drain slower, but the battery will still drain if you don't take it driving for over a month (that's just how batteries work).

Thank you so much-it worked! After 22 years of loving care, my wife's SC430 was shot down by a careless youngster. Fortunately, not much happened to her (Lexus builds very sturdy cars...), but her dream car was scrap. Now we found a very good one from the facelift series, which had a new battery - but no more memory seats. Now it's back! Best regards from Hubert in Germany

I don't mean to be that guy but the backseats being removed is probably for another purpose, WEIGHT SAVING. I assume this guy isn't working for UBER and I highly doubt he gets all his buddies into his award winning car. And the large paddle shifter makes it easier to reach when you're turning

Looks Like the negative cable is loose when you hit it. Loosen the clamps, remove the terminals (negative first - black, then the positive - red), clean the terminals, replace the the terminals (in the reverse order of removal), and tighten the clamps nice and snug. Take a multimeter and check to see how many volts you have in the battery. If it's less than 12 volts the computer system won't be happy. Once you get it running, check the voltage of the battery again and it should be 13.5 - 14 volts. If it is, than the alternator is working. If it's not, your alternator is kaput. The starter is nestled in the 'V' of the engine underneath the intake manifold. It will cost a fair amount of labour to have it changed. I'm not sure why you don't just look up these things on KZbin. Oh, I forgot, then you wouldn't be able to show off your wife to get more views and subs.
@lexusls4305Ай бұрын
We’ll try your advice, although we don’t have a multimeter.. We’veseen no other signs of a voltage loss through slower windows or delayed electronics, As for your other comment, keep your opinions to yourself

Clean terminal on battery and tighten, I can’t tell from hammer hitting if they are tight. Use wire brush on terminal and connectors.

^ im with the guy above: Starter has a flat spot or a bad bendix drive (which sends the pinion into the flywheel)

You may have figured it out already, but even with a new battery, it can drain if the car is just sitting for long periods of time. You can disconnect the negative terminal, or remove the whole battery. You can also buy the covers for the battery terminals which will help protect from that corrosion. You can use a battery tender to keep the battery charged, but since it's parked outside that won't make sense since you'd have to run an extension cable. But you can remove the battery and keep it on a tender in your garage or hook one up the day before you know you're going to start it

Starter under the manifold. Good news is only about $1500. Very complicated repair. Bad battery cable probably it.
