I Was About To Skip... Then I was Like Oh Snap That's A Hemi hahaha

For a motor pushing 1200+hp, the restrictive manifold will definitely choke the motor a bit. For a stock application, you’ll maybe see a 5-10hp increase due to not requiring a high flowing exhaust setup. Gain is still a gain nonetheless.
@alexcockerill7 ай бұрын
Agreed. Plus it can change the torque curve and actually make the useable low end torque a little worse while still raising the peak number. But headers sound great!
@Texas_Road_Warrior7 ай бұрын
@@alexcockerillWhat are you smoking? There’s NEVER been a dyno that shows a long tube header making less power down low than a factory manifold or shorty header… the longer runner length promotes low RPM power SAME as longer intake runner lengths

@@Texas_Road_Warrior in newer electric controlled engines who obviously have to add a tune. I put inch and seven eights headers on my 03 Z06. I definitely lost some Lil Wayne torque, I could tell right away. But I had the car tuned, the power came back and then some. I did not run a Dino because I don’t care about horsepower, but the tuner thinks I added approximately 20 hp. Mind you this is muffler delete, with high flow cats. Obviously every situation will be different; this was just my experience, but the point should be clear.

The sound difference of long tubes is worth everything

I've never seen torque measured in Lil Wayne's. What's the conversion for those vs nM?
@oscarwalton11887 ай бұрын
Depends on the tune camshaft and compression to the power increase if any modern manifolds aren't that restricted and you might lose a little tork at low rpm
@Texas_Road_Warrior7 ай бұрын
You’re not losing low end power with a long tube… EVER

That's 68 at 1267 hp. so gains for my 400 hp motor would be less
@PHILLY2147 ай бұрын
Still about 15-20hp
@tayloralvidrez43427 ай бұрын
@@PHILLY214 no because the factory manifolds easily flow the cubic feet of air needed for 400hp. Those thousand dollar headers are definitely under 10hp at @ 400hp

In 345ci hemi the 5.7 they make 30 hp no tune. The 5.7 is 400 hp.
@christophermix68457 ай бұрын
Still 100% worth it. May not seem like much power but the drivability is unbelievably better.
@lb9gta3077 ай бұрын
Depends on the application. Those Hellcat manifolds are really shorty headers. They're decent for stock units. If your car has some junk log manifolds like mine you can gain 30hp on a 250hp engine. It also matters a little more without a supercharger.

Kooks optimizes size and length for specific apps to get best result , mostly above 4,000rpm. Most street stuff rarely used that way and is usually restrictivly muffled .

And that’s exactly how I drive; wide open throttle. Send it!

It's at 5000 rpm that the Kooks start 2 shine . 68 hp is a terrific gain . 33 ft lbs as well . Xcellent 😅

It was also apples to apples. We stopped the stock-header pull at 6800. If we had spun the engine (or blower) harder, we would have kept making more. There's more left in there, for sure.
