I owned the K5. I still want a K5. Best factory bike ever made . I have a EBR1190 that handles a little better but has other reliability issues. I have a 2023 s1000rr and it's completely neutered from BMW. Feels as powerful as a grom or z125 riding around town 😢 2005-6 GSXR is a true monster. It really is that good at everything even if it is no longer the best at any single one thing. Overall it's still one of the fastest most reliable most aggressive and well rounded bikes over created.

Velocity stacks are a must! They make all the difference at the top of the band! Like adding 2k more usable rpm.... it's probably worth more hp gain swapping stacks then a header.

My 2005 K5 made 162 HP at the rear wheel on standard pipe. Only mods are Blackstone carbon wheels and an Yamaha R1 throttle tube (gives quick action throttle) fastest thing across the mountain roads, turned like a 600 went like a Bussa

Good looking bike. My k5 just made 165hp 83ft/lbs on an unforgiving dyno. I do have a few things done to it though. Stacks, sprint, racefit, etc etc.

I rode one of my friends K5 back in the day. Stretch, lowered, full exhaust, cam & had a nos setup but wasn't using the bottle. I think his was in the 190s if I remember right. It was nasty. Yours has good start off number if you ask me.

To me it looks like he was using a different gear, so one of those might be 4th/5th and the next 6th (hence the graph just shifted to the right in relative wheel speed)

178 at crank should be slightly over 150 at the wheel so very few HP have disappeared.

As stated already it is 178 hp at the crankshaft but then you lose hp through the transmision, chain and wheel. Also 150hp was before the fuel had been adjusted. He ended up at 160hp so the rest is getting used up in the drive train.

Don't like Chris at all. Super over rated guy. The fact he charges like $60+ for your bike to pop on de-acceleration when all the other tuners do it for free is a main one. He charges all these extre fees on his flashes thag other tuners do for free.. Oh you want a sticker? $10 Want your ecu signed? $25 Want a key chain? $15.. Nope he won't get my business.
