All manufacturers give you a power number in writing for what the bike/car will make in its stock state. However, the one thing to note is that this number reflects the horsepower at the crank!
A portion of that power is lost as it is transferred to the wheel. This is known as drivetrain loss. So the actual number that is being put to the ground is not exactly the same as what is written on the spec sheet from the manufacturer.
Today we want to know exactly how much power the new 2023 BMW M1000RR is putting down to the wheel. So off to the dyno it is!
