OK, now lets see the same camp setup in a stiff wind as it's getting dark, and after a few beers! Good teamwork.

This video is fake. Two problems. No arguing and no one bumped their head on the flaps. :) Seriously though, great video! Looks like the perfect setup. You two look so happy!

Hey Patrick, Great video big fan here! Now that I a an educated Cub fan I know with those BIG ALASKAN WHEELS, all that gear you and your wife. Plus that cooler full of ice and drinks plus food. Oh you forgot that 45 CAL 1911. Really 1320??? You must be pretty light fellow. You just in the envelope aren't you? YES, YOU ARE!! Did you say 2.5 gallons of fuel?? NO SHARP TURNS OR TAKEOFFS FOE YOU! yOU ARE FLYING WITH THE UNUSABLE FUEL !! I took a guess at all the weights . Can't wait for the FAA to wake up and change that weight of 1320 up where it belongs! Around 2,000 sounds right to me, but they are now talking about 3500 lbs!!! Holy Moly!! Pull out the spare tanks and pack'em in too! FILL 'ER UP PLEASE AND LETS NOT RUN OUT OF GAS GETTING BACK HOME!!

I’ve been away from flying for far too many years. What’s a Carbon Cub?
@pedrolanevert5 жыл бұрын
Willy Makeit Carbon Cub is the plane, that is a reproduction of a Piper Super Cub, but in a very upgraded version, in Carbon, with a 180hp Lycoming engine! It’s made by Cubcrafters! Great planes!!! cubcrafters.com/

Are you still flying the CC or did you move onto something else?? What model of tent is that??
@Backcountryaviation8 жыл бұрын
+B WILLIAMS we don't have A carbon cub at the moment, we are no longer the dealers in our area, but we still have a maule M7 and bushed out super cub. The tents we used double as tents and emergency shelters. They are from a company called hillberg and they make expedition tents. They are pretty light weight but more importantly they are bombproof made for high mountain expeditions. They are overkill for an airplane camping trip, but it is a piece of mind.
@bwilliams62608 жыл бұрын
I know of the Hillburg and the Arctic ovens - Both tents, great tents - Looking to replace my Northface VE24 and the hillburg looks like the ticket - Do you now the model of your Hillberg? no longer a fan of the Carbon Cub? what are your thoughts on American Denali Scout?
@Backcountryaviation8 жыл бұрын
It is a kaitum 3 GT. I would love a carbon cub in the hangar still but hard to justify given my mission which is usually hauling bikes or bulky film equipment. The Maule's performance is sub 300' at most of my altitudes when lightly loaded and never over 900' fully loaded. Plus I routinely go on 200+ mile trips making it a bit better suited for speed and range. My cub is a toy that is just super fun to fly at 1/3rd the cost of a Carbon cub. I haven't ever own a scout, but I have done plenty of instruction in them. For me personally they don't have the STOL performance that I would typically use. That being said they are docile and put out good numbers in many other categories.

This video really answered my questions about luggage capacity well. It was a little unnerving when the female hopped in the pilot's seat but I'm sure the mistake was realized and corrected prior to takeoff. Great video!
