I normally soak my oats in boiling water. I then go do my yoga return after 30 mins, throw the soaked water bec oats like many grains contain phytic acid which prevents the abortion of its nutrients by the body. After the soaking it cooks on the stove top in 3-4 mins. Thanks for sharing & good luck with the rest of your pregnancy🙂

That is so impressive! The time saved is insane! You actually inspired me to pre-cook more staples in large portions and it makes a big difference. While I still love my cooking ritual as a grounding practice, I love having some elements already prepped.

I had plans to but our freezer is so small now so I don’t know if we have room! 😆🙈 So far all I’ve prepped for it is black bean brownies.

My meal prep is to make very large dinners. My husband and I get a dinner one night, planned over dinner another night, plus a lunch for each of us. Breakfasts are always microwaved oats with fruit. Quick and easy. Now that I have an Instant Pot, I might cook up multiple breakfasts and store in the fridge. When i cook rice and beans in the Instant Pot or on the stove, I always make a large portion. I love to freeze portions of chile or soups or sloppy joes for fast dinners later!

Hey there Sheryl, do you mean a cookbook from me or from these recipes, or something else?

I am looking for a cookbook I have seen several recipes you have made I like. I don't seem to be able to get from the "see below"

I don't have a recipe website or cookbook yet, but it's something I've been thinking about! So thank you for letting me know it's something you'd be interested in! Something for me to plan for for the future. If you're having trouble with the KZbin video description box, definitely check out on google (or KZbin!) how to get there. Usually I will post the recipe from a video there, but this one didn't include a recipe, as I was just doing the time comparison. But I could definitely post the oatmeal & burrito bowl recipes here if you're interested. 😋

As always an excellent video Maddie. I do have a question for you which silicon covers for your bowls do you have? Or if you were going to buy new ones which ones would they be? I am getting ready to order some and could use your expert advice.😊

Thank you! Great question... I got these and LOVE them: amzn.to/3TQ7LLg I haven't bought plastic wrap since getting them! I have also been eyeing these for covering bowls and pans: amzn.to/43sO6Ed I think they would make a good addition to my collection as well. 🤗

That’s great! Of course only if you are just feeding yourself. If you have a family, you would never have the room to put everyone’s meals in the fridge 😅
@LetsEatPlants11 ай бұрын
Well in that case I would combine them into the storage containers better! Like for the oatmeal, there is definitely space to put 2 servings in each container. 😀 I meal prep for my husband and myself and haven’t had a problem with space! I think with larger families you probably wouldn’t be prepping full meals like this anyway, you’d just do like all the roasted veggies together, a batch of beans, a batch of rice and let everyone make their own burritos, tacos, etc. so really you’d only need to store the batches which doesn’t take as much space. 😊

Interesting comparison. I eat the same meal for several days in a row. It's just me so if a recipe is 4 servings, I need just 3 recipes for the week to get me through lunch and dinner. I fill in with maybe a pita pizza and hummus with pita. I always cook one cup of rice at a time. If it's not needed, the rest goes in the freezer. For a serving of the red pepper, I will use just what I need and save the rest for another recipe. It's the dishes that kill me doing meal prep! Thanks, Maddie.

@@cyndij8312 That’s a great way to do it! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 And I agree, dishes from cooking every day is too much. 😜
