within the first video off this channel. already locked in a client & based it at a fair $300 for the logo just off the tactics of explanation in the invoicing & using what I KNOW & What I INCLUDE in my process. This video was extremely useful. Thanks again, Michael!

Bro out here in Africa all you got it’s your idea and computer so all the other equipment doesn’t matter to the client to it kinda makes it hard to makes it hard to estimate how much you can charge a client

3th work problems. Hi5!
@smalltowncreative2 жыл бұрын
I understand. Though I’m assuming you wouldn’t purchase equipment that didnt help you do your best work. These are costs that must be built into your pricing. You also should never share your expenses with clients, just give them the estimate. From there, they have two choices… accept the agreement or look elsewhere.

What do you mean by thumbnails and comps for services?
@smalltowncreative Жыл бұрын
Thumbnails are, essentially, just early sketches to help you layout elements quickly. A comp is used to get approval for a design direction before you render the final design. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_layout

Idk what any of that means… I’ve made logos… just downloaded the logo app and made the logo sent it to the person and they used it. 🤷🏽♂️ I need to know these terms and definitions to them.

i have a question, one of my client ask for price list, as a graphic designer do you need a price list or just tell them the fixed only and also I have a invoice too.
@smalltowncreative2 жыл бұрын
Hi Charmine! To be safe, I would tell them that you typically charge a flat rate of $____, for ______ services , and tell them what that includes. If they need something different, then offer to have a discovery call, get all the info, and send a custom estimate based on their unique needs. 😁

Do people actually pay that kind of money cause I recently completed a logo for a client and they thought £120 was expensive 👀
@smalltowncreative3 жыл бұрын
Your ideal client will pay a reasonable rate. You just have to communicate your value to them, using your portfolio, and letting them know the result they can expect.
@dryanwarrener3 жыл бұрын
@@smalltowncreative Thank you for your fast response! What if my portfolio is less than 5 projects? 👀
@jonahd.73953 жыл бұрын
@@dryanwarrener I would recommend asking trusted friends or family to pitch a fictional company idea to you (or come up with one yourself). Create several fictional brands at the quality you will generate for real clients. Once you have 4 or 5 solid brand concepts, add those to your portfolio, and create a PDF that you can send to clients showcasing your work. I hope that all makes sense. I am still in the learning phase as a freelance graphic designer, so I am still doing it myself :)
@jfosterdesigns3 жыл бұрын
You'd be surprised how much you can charge for a logo when you know your value! Some designers charge in the thousands. Depends on the scale of the company and the scope of what you can offer along with the logo such as color palette, branding, and other assets. Remember, you are offering more than just a product (the logo in this case), you are offering them incredible value for their company's identity, marketing, and voice going forward.
@gvx-desginsgvx2846 Жыл бұрын
I know this is an old post but to a seasoned designer £120 or $380 is extremely low. If you're just starting out that's a decent amount. Once you gain more knowledge more skills you need to graduate to higher price tier. Too many designers are actually underpricing/undervaluing themselves. Its normal to charge clients $1,000 or $15,000 who have the money and see the value in your work. At the end of the day its more than a logo, its an investment.
