I live in an area where we get 13-16 inches of rain/year and no rain whatsoever in July-September. The farm lost its water rights before we purchased it, so we can't use the well to water crops. We are collecting all our water over the winter in cisterns and using dry farming techniques. Different world on the other coast. And people say to me all the time "I heard it rains all the time in the Pacific Northwest." Nope.
