05:10 the first upgrade should be an MPPT Controller. If you just have a just a DC2DC charger then the solar won't charge the battery(s) while you're driving. If you have both then they'll feed the battery(s). No need for the so-called Green charging system. In Winter, I can get 3KWh during the day from my 1.2 KW of roof top solar with a Pmax of 750W at ~30V. In Summer I can get 600KWh with a Pmax of 900W at ~36V. I carry an iTechworld 160Ah power station with an in-built 2000W inverter. I plug my computer system into the power station when the sun is shining and hook up a 300W solar blanket. My PC system sucks somewhere between 35-45 Watts at 12.V which is a max of 3.75A (more than StarLink, on average) but the blanket can put in 120W at 13.2V at ~9A ... a win-win. If the sun ain't shinin', I keep the power bank for 'emergency use', for which, I've only had to utilise it once in 12 months for my PC setup and StarLink (I live and work on the road F/T).

Thanks Stuart 🤙 Yea we have a victron MPPT solar charger, and also DCDC charger has a solar input as well, so we can run two external blankets if needed 😀 And also having the ecoflow as our back up power Bank if we get into trouble 🤙

$100 a night!!? That’s insane! You need more batteries. I’ve got 360amps of lithium in a 12’ caravan. I’ve just found your channel and I’m very impressed and subscribed. Loads of great honest advice and a hoot to watch! 😉👍

Great vid ,what do you think is a good amount to travel for a year today without working ?
@fivedownunder5 ай бұрын
On our first lap we were doing about an average of $1500 a week, and that's with a lot of caravan parks etc. Next lap we'll be aiming for mostly only free or cheap camps, so hopefully that'll be around the $1000 a week, for food, fuel, accommodation and miscellaneous etc. 😀 Accommodation is one of the biggest variables and can make or break a budget haha!
