Renwal by Andersen quoted $14.5K (that is not a typo) for a ProVia fiberglass entry door and installation!!

Wow. Yeah that seems kinda excessive. I really wonder how they came up with that number? I know there is always a cost/value breakdown with every quote, but that seems like that door should grant you wishes, lol. Hopefully they were able to adjust and find something that might be more reasonable when it comes to the cost and your value.

Holy Hell! We were quoted a price of just over $7,000 for a new front entry door (made by ProVia, but the quote was from a local company doing window and door installs). And only $400 of that was labor. So roughly $6,600 for a freaking steel door and all new frame (plus a "sidelite" - basically the thin window that runs alongside the door frame). Ridiculous

@@The_slowest_buuurn I asked and it makes sense now. Here in the UK a lot of changes to a house can add happiness but not add value to a property. Spending money on doors and other internal shit is irrelevant from a financial point of view. And my 'ratty little shack' is doing quite well.

You'd have to find a contractor that could special order a blast bomb door. But, depending on the style of zombies you are dealing with a heavy steel door should be enough to handle the classic slow moving zombie. We do offer very stylish designs in steel doors. So that would be a more affordable option for you over a bomb blast door. If you are dealing with high impact, fast moving zombies, you might want to still go with a heavy steel door, but will want to reinforce the frame to ensure it holds back any hordes that might come your way. In that case, you would want to also talk to someone about reinforcing your windows and even maybe some James Hardie siding to cover your home in a protective "zombie proof" shell. We'd be happy to talk to you more about your window and door needs.
