And even if you actually factor in the subscription fees. It is $59.99 for a year. The Price of a single game. You need 10 years of subscription to make up that difference. @@fancyslimoshady that’s facts. I wasn’t expecting too much with the ps5 (as I already have a capable pc) but once I actually got one, the gaming experience was surprisingly phenomenal. The controller haptics pared with the amazing exclusives was a whole new type of experience that a pc simply can’t offer. If it wasn’t for the exclusives, controller, price, and graphical capabilities to an extent, I would say that gaming on a pc would always be the better option but this time around, the ps5 truly is a great device solely for gaming purposes.

I build a $2,000 pc that has a i9 10850K 10 core processor, 128gb, 4tb SSD, 10tb hard drives in a RAID 10, .. 16 USB ports, 16 SATA l pors, 3x M.2 ports.. on a ROG Maximus hero XII wifi motherboard, RTX 3060, 850w power supply, and the kicker is I can and do host online dedicated game servers.. and rent them out like Gportal and Nitrado dos... and it payed for itself many times over.. about $700 -$800 a month in income... so why not roll a high-quality PC.? And if PS5 or Xbox is the true gaming system why can't they host any true dedicated game servers or even make mods for games much less run any mods... and someone explain why the console is trying to be my internet service provider? They make you pay extra to play online when infact it's free on pc...

This isnt anywhere close to the ps5 specs though. It boosts to 3.5ghz and is actually usually running between 2.8ghz and 3ghz. Its a downclocked 3600 non X model, which AMD confirmed. The gpu is around a 2060 super with ray tracing performance less than a 2060, but the 2060s has dlss which makes it a little better

$1137 sounds about right except you can’t actually buy a GPU at MSRP right now. It also doesn’t account for OS, keyboard, mouse, controller (optional), or monitor and speakers (you could plug it into a TV but the positioning would be hard). Hell the RTX 3060 they put in the build is $330 if you can get one from nVidea or EVGA but $400-the same price as the digital edition PS5-from most retailers or $500 for Zotac: insane. Anyone claiming PC systems are cheaper is lying.

OS is free you know, keyboard mouse you usually can get for a bundle for like 5$ and they work perfectly fine. If you use an old controller for the PC you most likely already have a TV so you can just use that for the PC if necessary just like you would for the PS5. PC is always a higher upfront expense but in the long run its cheaper.

But currently there's no obvious benefit to using an AMD graphics card... despite being "similar" (i.e. RDNA2(ish)) the PC versions are still going to target the most common GPU's... and many of the optimizations won't make it to PC at all.

They're definitely better than that. This video is flawed, but you'd need a high end 2016 PC to trade blows. GTX 1080, and 16gb of RAM with a beefy CPU $300 at the time probably. It'd be as good as or outperform the consoles. However, you wouldn't have ray tracing. This video is flawed, but that's because they chose a far more expensive CPU than needed and they didn't include peripherals.

This is a significantly more powerful build than a PS5 though. That CPU has a much higher TDP than the console version, and so performance is going to be much higher as well. That GPU especially with DLSS will run circles around the PS5 in terms of both ray tracing and rasterization. And that's the price for that machine NOW. Imagine it in 2 years. Much cheaper and still much more powerful. In 3 years you'll be able to build something even more powerful for around the same amount as well. Not that powerful hardware is the be all of PC gaming. The library is the number one thing for me, followed by the versatility and options (from graphics options to ultra wide screen support, to various game pad and mouse and keyboard support) and mods. The powerful hardware is just icing on the cake.

The reason I prefer console to PC is because of the games. The games made exclusively for consoles simply appeal to me more. I recognize that I can play Far Cry, and Assasins Creed etc with slightly better graphics and frame rates. But that to me has never really outweighed getting to play games like God Of War, Zelda, Uncharted, The Last of Us etc

Very informative, thank you! As a PC and console enthusiast, my two cents. 1) Consoles are dedicated gaming hardware with very few additional applications. I often find myself buying one for exclusive games, no regrets. 2) PC's cover a much wider range of functions, from gaming, to editing, to programming etc. More often than not, if you're an avid gamer and your work revolves around computers, it may be worth investing in a higher-end rig. 3) AMD is the way to go IMO. What makes this hardware particularly versatile is the fact that they stick to a single processing slot, currently the AM4 I believe. This means that in order to upgrade, you really just need to swap out parts to fit your current needs. With other companies, you often need to change most if not all internal components to upgrade. I got my PS5 for RRP, but I also had a 15% off voucher for the online retailer I bought mine for, so it was £382.49, you can't even get an RTX 3060 for close to that on Amazon or any retailer that actually has the cheapest ones in stock, it's £620 for the Palit one. IMO most people would be better off buying prebuilt PCs at the moment, especially if you don't want to spend over £1400 to match the PS5's gaming performance. Maybe things will get a little better in the next month or so, but I'm sure stock levels will still be an issue and scalpers will continue to ruin everyone's day in this hobby.

a 360/3700x can easily do 2k/120 and even 4k/60 (just remember that consoles use lower than the lowest settings in comparison to pc) for esports titles, but for esports you're prob using 1080p and using a 360hz monitor which the 360 can handle.

Video left out upgradability, with a pc you can easily swap gpu's and if your board supports the next gen cpu all you really need is a bios update and you are right there with the new consoles. Also you can customize your experience where as with a console you are really stuck with whatever you get and need to buy the next gen console to get better performance which means the older console gets put back in the box and in your attic. I used to like console gaming until I realized how good pc gaming is, better refresh rate and lower framerate times equals far better experience.

What are you talking about? The Cpu and gpu in the ps5 are the same architect used in their current ones. If you build an amd pc that matches the specs on a ps5 they will literally run the same. I was worried that my PC might not match up with a PS5 but now I realize it crushes it. 13th gen i7, 3080 TI aoris master GPU, 5600 MHz ddr5 32 GB Ram...im probably close to PS6 level compared to PS5.... actually I have a feeling the ps6 when it comes out is going to blow my system away. RTX 40 series coming out later this year…if you could find one at stock then would be a good time to upgrade! The upcoming RTX 4080 is gonna literally blow PS5 out of the water! PC's are a PITA for gaming, you end up spending more time updating drivers, SW and fixing problems than actual gaming. Console, turn it on and you are playing in a few minutes. yes but the point was to build a pc close the ps5 the issue was.. his choices were just vastly better than a ps5, a better comparison would be have a 2600x, amd 6500-xt which is literally the closest off the shelf gpu you can get that is what is in the ps5... a 2060 stomps the 6500-xt.. and the 360 just blows both out the water, so when I saw a 360 and even the 3700x I already knew he wasn't building a true comparable pc to a ps5 because those specs pretty much spit on the ps5 performance wise.

It’s an incredibly rare thing for someone to have a PC that is using all the parts that make up what would be a better than next gen console. You can go look it up. The massive majority of PC gamers have low spec. There are really not many people that can afford to use the good stuff.

I don't get why some PC people don't get the fact that all console players don't play online games. Most Sony exclusives are single player story driven titles. I haven't has paid for PSN in like 5 years. And only pay for Xbox Gamepass when they have deals for like $1 for a month.

Huh? I built a beastly gaming pc for under $1000. Ryzen 7 3700x, gtx 1080 ti, 32gb ddr4, Samsung pro nvme. Tell me that won't compete.. That being said, the new consoles are a great value.

The thing is that there are games, and entire game genres, which you simply just want to use a PC for. Especially strategy and city-building stuff. I cannot image why anyone would want the likes of Age of Empires, Civilization, or any Paradox Interactive game on a console.

unfair comparisn as sony uses a pcie gen 4 m2 nvme ssd you used sata ssd which is much cheaper and slower, everything in the ps5 custom made from hardware to software & the games in ps5 are better optimised so the perfomce is higher when compare to PC components with same raw power... so you should have used a better graphics card and ssd which will make the PC much more expensive... make a vedio comparing fps in the future

CPU is far more than is needed. $150 CPU would do (at the time, now same CPU would probably cost $100 - R5 3600 or similar). That gives you enough money for windows and peripherals included. Other than that, surprisingly good choices.

This is why console gaming will always be way better than PC due to the price point. If you’re just going to play games and do nothing else why build a PC that costs twice as much when you can just get a regular laptop for your basic computer needs? Unless you’re a graphic designer/artist or a content creator you really don’t need a high end gaming PC when the PS5/Xbox Series X can literally do the same thing minus the PC part.

Sony is the odd one out not supporting it on their console really. It's the whole reason you see more and more games on PC and Console on Gamepass as it's just easier to port them over for both.

1137 and some extra 100s for monitor and keybord/mouse. Sure its a lot of dough, but mind you, it also gives you acces to so much more than just gaming whereas console is just there for gaming. Plus you do need to buy a new tv (unless your fine with 1080p tv from 2012), subscription for online, maybe an extra controller and a couple of games that exceed 60 dollar/euro per game. Did not look up the price but I think its similar to pc, but with pc you can used it for more than gaming and upgrading is accessable. Sony is also moving more titles to pc so there is acces to previously sony exclusive titles.

@@MrSherhi 299 euro's for 4k 60hz monitor on a webshop (Netherlands), but I would not opt for 4k personally, probably 1440p monitor. That means that a RTX 3060 would suffice. A RTX 3060 should be able to do 4k 30 fps (console games often operate at 30 fps) It all comes down to preferance and total budget really (that is different for everyone), if people wanna game at 4k AND 60 fps its gonna cost them more absolutely, then a more expensive card is needed . Personally I'm still fine at gaming at 1080p, so in my case I would not exceed 1200 euro/dollar. In my case the build showcased in the vid would be all I needed in terms of pc gaming.

I heavily prefer console gaming even with a pc with close to double the power. Consoles are just convenient and every game is built for that specific hardware. And you have to mention the killer ps5 exclusives if your into that.

Convenient? You realize PC is not just a gaming machine and we use a keyboard that has a few more buttons that can be used for gaming and chatting than a controller. Don't start with exclusives, can't even call what can be played on PS5 a sample of what PC has. I'll give you a point for there are games specifically built for the hardware but the trade off is customization. edit: funny thing about convenience lol. after typing this troll comment on my PC i'm going to play some half life alyx on vr. this is the life
