series S works great for me, (I'm 68) not sure it would be worth the cost for series X at this time. @iiCrazyChris you will NOT regret your decision one but, the Xbox series S is such a phenomenal little BEAST of a console! The performance of the Series S compared to my PS4 pro is night and day. The Series S is Soo much faster, the performance is stunning TBH. The SSD essentially eliminates load times, the new Zen 2 CPU architecture combined with the RDNA 2 GPU means the series S is not only much more powerful than PS4 pro but it's also far more effecient! The series S doesn't run games at native 4K instead opting to run games at 1440p and up to 120fps. Now I'm not going to lie, at first I was afraid this console would be underpowered and that all the naysayers we're correct but to my pleasant surprise this thing is truly impressive! The series S has the ability to upscale all games to 4K to match your TV resolution and I was afraid games wouldn't look good being upscaled but in all honesty it looks fantastic. The series S is probably one of the BEST consoles ever released, it's price to performance ratio is unreal. plus if you get gamepass you have access to a massive Library of some of the best Xbox games ever made! I'm happy to see the series S is finally getting the love it deserves. Happy gaming 😁🎮🙌

The 1660 does not have any hardware support for Ray tracing. You could have picked at RX 580 and still done ray tracing in the same way as the 1660. The closest comparison you could do would be more like a RX 5500 4GB to at least get closer in architecture and memory size. 8GB of RAM for a total of 12GB windows overhead size would I'm sure consume the extra 2GB. Why did you go with a SATA 3? The PCIe Gen 3 x4 is almost directly comparable to the PCIe Gen 4 x2 that is in the Xbox Series consoles. The gen 4 still has advantages, but it would be much much closer than a SATA 3. You should have gone with a micro ATX case with built in power supply. Could get them together for under $50. No matter how you look at it consoles are always going to give you far more bang for your buck. Microsoft and Sony buy in massive bulk to get by far the cheapest price on components. In addition they are willing to lose money on each console. Each component in a computer build must make the seller a profit. There is just no way for a PC build to win price wise.

A Ryzen 3 3100/3300x with a520 or an Intel i3-10100f with an h470 combined with a 1650 super would've matched the pricing and performance a lot closer to a Series S. Building a pc that costs more than a Series X to compete with a Series S is just moronic to be honest. A 10100f with 1650 super would balance each other all the while competing well with a Series S and still provide all the benefits of a PC beyond its gaming capabilities.
@davidandrew68553 жыл бұрын
I agree with the 1650 Super, it matches the Series S in ROP and TMU count and in overall FP32 performance they are fairly close. However I think the 8 threads of the 10100f or 3300x may leave some performance on the table in games that can really tap cores/threads. I think the best CPU to actually have in this PC, to compete with the Series S is the Intel 10400f, it is a bit costly when compared to the 10100f, but it legit gives 6 cores 12 threads and is considerably cheaper then the 3600 at $180 especially right now. To compare a PC to a console at all, IMO, is kind of a waste of time, unless one just compares gaming and only gaming. The PC will intrinsically be a much better and more capable piece of kit as it is designed for more than just games.
@alexcain28553 жыл бұрын
Indeed the CPUs I suggested are on the weak side but at 1080p/60 they do complement the 1650s extremely well, even 1080p/120 is doable in some cases if the 1650s can push it. The problem is the budget constraint of $299($499 in AU), and with the gpu prices at what they are no amount of mental gymnastics allows for an equivalent PC for an equivalent price. I mean the consoles are sold at a loss for a reason.

While tflops aren't an ideal measurement, 4.4 tflops on a GTX 1650 super beats the series s's 4. Guess I'm set for a while, as companies can't make games that the (next gen) series s can't run. No optimization, sure, but I don't have to stick to ultra settings
@darrens34942 жыл бұрын
Yeah but one MAJOR thing consoles have is optimization. I wish PC also had the same levels of optimization that consoles have but we never will sadly. Look at the base XBOX ONE and PS4 right. Those GPU's were somewhat comparable to say a GTX 750Ti or somewhere around that ballpark and yet as the years went on, that GPU (and those with similar performance) struggled and now can't even run certain games but those base consoles still can. So yeah while 1650 is still somewhat of a decent little 1080p card, the series s with optimized games will soon or at some point will make it hard for those cards to keep going
