Damn my dude! I’ve never installed a modification that I personally ever thought I would get a return for. It’s always been easier for me to return it to stock-ish, and resell the stuff on eBay to get the most bang for the buck.

Here in the UK specifically Scotland a 2020 bike with a fair few mods and around 3k miles you'll get one for around 7k if they want a quick sale so that's around $8,900. Here 7k is a great price for that year and the mods done to it.

Hot dang that is a good price! What is the riding season like in Scotland? Do you see a lot of high mileage bikes?

@LifeWellRidden my current 2015 S1KR has nearly 18k miles. Season here is short mate it's not very warm here for long. I wish I lived in the States in a comfortable heat lol. None of this Florida heat lol. Was there July 19 and nearly fainted leaving the Airport 😂😂. I'm away to get a 690 this weekend a 2020 plate. I follow Chopsy he's had great luck with his 2020 on a 69 plate. 69 is the year so registered the end of 2019 basically. 6th month of 2019.

Florida is like a constant warm blanket and just too much for me! Oh heck yeah!! Good luck with the pickup you’ll love that darn thing! And you speaking about Lamb Chop Rides?? Knowing what I know about these bikes I think I'd probably give you around MSRP if I was in the market to buy one. But only because you have concrete proof of what you have done. You literally can't trust 99% of people selling a modded bike. I looked into buying used before I bought mine and people were selling them with 6-700 miles for MSRP+ in my area so I bought new

Yeah man, it might be that I’m in the PNW but these bikes just don’t sell very well. I paid under $13000 OTD for mine last year. I bought mine assuming I would never sell it because the used market is pretty sad for them. Mine with 1200 miles and one year old is probably work $10k on a good day.

I have a KTM 1290 R SuperDuke R and I'm either looking at a KTM 690 SMC R or an Yamaha R1. The fact that a 690 SMC R is almost €13,000 brand new in Ireland, I feel a secondhand Yamaha R1 (2015-2022) would be more value than the Sumo. What do y'all think? I'm 36 and I don't know if I'm older will I ever get to enjoy those machines....

for me unless youre a serious track rider or a speed devil, any sportbikes will feel like a chore to ride after those first impressions. But It never feels like a chore to ride my sumos
@LifeWellRidden3 ай бұрын
I'm going to have to agree with @donkeizluv on this one.. the 690 is just a plain old blast to ride no matter if your at the track or on the street. You can use all of the power going stop light to stop light and even on smaller tracks keep up with the bike liter bike guys.. (If you can brake late and corner hard). I feel the R1 (no experience here) would leave me wanting to use every bit of it on the street but just couldn't. At the track it would be great but if its your daily rider.. that's a no for me. I would much rather "ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow" When it comes to resale value, I would choose the R1 because for some reason (in the USA) these 690's don't hold value..
@luckyleo883 ай бұрын
@@LifeWellRidden Thanks for your opinion. Makes sense that most probably I wouldn't have the potential to use 3/4 of the HP on the R1 compared to the 690 SMC R. But seems like as you said the R1 does hold its value somehow 2015 R1s are holding the €15,000 mark....A 2020/2021 SMC R goes around €8,000 to €9,500 here in Ireland.

@@luckyleo88 It's very weird how he value works. If you go the route of the 690, plan to keep it for a longggg time and/or turn it into a "trach/track" bike so you don't get hurt on the re-sale. @@LifeWellRidden just based purely on what you even said in your video. The bank looks at the value of the bike but then my bank will only loan up to 80% of that value max. In my experience mods add very little value to most things, it’s definitely nice to have those parts for sure but you will never get what you put in back. + the milage like you said, I’d rather buy a freshie with 600 miles for $9k vs a heavily modified bike at 8k miles that also has a documented engine failure. Now none of this is being said out of bad will for you at all, just being realistic of what I personally would pay. In my area there is a 2018 701 with a bunch of mods done to it with 6k miles and it’s been for sale for 1.5 years at this point and the price is down to $7500. They just don’t sell very well where I’m at.
