If you live in Hungary, this is even worse. If i make a superchat/ super thanks/ membership it contains about 21% tax, with youtube's 30% cut, the creator that i support only get about 55%... That's why i try to avoid supporting others through youtube, if there's another way to supporting them.

cpm is a useful analytic because you can calculate the pay for an entire niche before even entering it. It's a guideline, and rpm's are different for everyone. Say you want to enter finance, and finance as a whole has 35cpm, but you're doing finance in a niche part of finance, so your actual cpm is 22, you can literally check that. So no, CPM is very useful for actual business building on youtube

Shorts may pay peanuts, but to a small channel like me, my effort of posting 2 shorts per day since beginning of June has still helped boost my revenue. And keeps KZbin "liking" my channel because I post a video every 12 hours, so when I finally have a Long form video ready to go, it seems to get better reach than I got before I started doing consistent Shorts posting.

I think it is normal that KZbin dorsnt pay 100% from the ads and the revenue share programe is fair and it is the best paying platform yet. Also creators sould not solely rely on ad revenue if money is an important factor. Great editing as usual! 🎉

KZbin is taking almost 70% of my ad revenue now so this is no longer accurate. My last 3 videos they have taken 65% to almost 70% of the CMP and it’s getting very frustrating. I have heard of another channel having this issue, but they had 95% of the ad revenue taken.. it’s time to contact YT and see why they are taking this much for us.. be sure to check those rates and keep track bc Im livid at this point..
