Here's a fun behind-the-scenes look for all you curious viewers or aspiring content creators at exactly how much money I have made from a Short that has over 6,000,000 views!
I always find these videos interesting and somewhat educational so I thought I would share my own today!
Huge shout-out to everyone who has liked and shared this video to allow it to have such success! Thank YOU!
It takes a lot of work to think of creative original ideas, film/shoot everything, edit, create thumbnails, and so on. So it's a really great feeling when one of those videos gets to be enjoyed by such a large audience!

You’re a good guitarist and it shows in your playing. And that’s one of the things that draws people in. And a lot of people , me included, enjoy the series of when you hire x guitarist for x gig. It’s a hilariously accurate concept being done extremely well with good playing.

For a max 60 second video, I think it's not that bad of an amount. What would you think would be an appropriate amount? Do you think 6m views on one 60 sec video should be able to pay you a full months salary or more? I think that's a bit much and think between 500 and 1000 would seem 'fair' to me.
@jamestopliss7029
@jamestopliss7029 6 ай бұрын
Just out of interest, what would you consider to be fair? And where do you imagine the figure you choose would be coming from? Considering it’s a 30 second video, with trademark music, no advertising, and hosted on KZbin free of charge

@@David-cz9ej The length of the video is irrelevant to time invested in making it. Views and likes is what determine the value of the video, not the length of it.

This conversation is interesting. How much money should someone earn for a video that is original content but also features an instrumentation from another artists song. If it was earning thousands I’d think the original artists are owed royalties. It’s a big picture thing.

Exactly what I expected for shorts lol Would you be willing to speak on your long form revenue? I knew shorts payout was abysmal and also shorts subscribers do not at all translate to long form viewership so I don't have much interest in posting shorts. Now it'll be super helpful to learn what a music long form creator of your size makes! If you're not interested in discussing that I totally understand. Cheers Jamie! You Rock!

I prefer content creators that pay less mind to pure economics, dishing out video after video based on KZbin's analytics, and use their genuine talent to mix it up on a regular basis. Ironically, a video about YT monetisation was left-field for this channel so I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the insight Jamie.

I would say it’s not enough money , because that’s a top short , 100 bucks for a million views is highway robbery, specially seems that most of your shorts are not gonna make that many views on average . That and most people in general will never get that many views , it might be a fair price if KZbin actually had better tools for video editing on your it’s self , they sure don’t make it easy to make professional looking videos on there own site , you gotta purchase better software and hardware and have good understanding of things to record good sound and video and make it all work . If KZbin made video editing way more easy and professional for everyone , then yea maybe that would be closer to a better pay , but only because there would be alot more better looking videos .

Thanks for the insights Jamie! KZbin is really strange. I've been trying to figure out KZbin recommendation algorithm for over half a year pushing my favorite pianist with no avail and have shorts such as kzbin.infovLu1Hwbv8LY with even better stats (96-117% viewer retention and average view duration on 2+K views) and no dislikes, and they still stop getting recommended after a few days. But like you say, maybe I got to keep making thrilling compilations like that. I only made a couple like that so far.

My DJ Khalid video sat for months at about 4K views. Then one night someone shared it on Reddit and it got over 100,000 views overnight (just on Reddit) and then FINALLY the KZbin algorithm picked it up and it now has millions of views. Meanwhile, right away, it got millions of views on TikTok as soon as it was uploaded.

@@jamierobinson777 Haha your videos are really great though. And yes I noticed the randomness in performance also. There is definitely fuzzy logic involved and according to developers of the recommendation algorithm, it's not designed to feature you but rather it "sniffs" out your videos when others start watching it. They definitely encourage you to go and share them to get traffic to KZbin and then the algorithm could reward you. Oh by the way, I discovered Riyoko as a cosplay KZbinr😅 but she had some home improvisation videos that alluded to her real talent, so I started following her live and my head exploded. Japan is a musical black box.
