How Much YouTube Pays Me To Play With BEARS $ / RIP New Boat (Ep16)

Boat Issues: Namely the sinking of my new boat. It's a rapid moving river and if you get swept broadside into log sweepers the river will swallow your only means of access in mere seconds. Recovery is possible, but the boat is nowhere to bee seen or found as of yet.
Lots of random building and travels about the region and beyond. Once again, I'm flying by the seat of my pants for this one. The mountains and valleys and ups and downs never end out here.
I decided to choose transparency and show my KZbin earnings.

A lot of us aren't here because you're seeing bear or a moose. We love to watch the progress and your dedication to make a home in the wilderness by yourself by your own means. I've personally been watching since your first video was released and early on was worried you'd give up on youtube because your channel wasn't taking off and you felt like filming and editing (which honestly could improve... the owl noise and night sky breaks are a relic 😅) wasn't worth the effort. What happens in a river current to a boat being sunk in a manner like yours was is.... if the boat has an anchor that's tied to the boat when the boat flips under water the anchor falls out and grabs the bottom. The boat is held down by the current and usually the boat will spin on the end of the anchor rope until the rope frays and breaks. After the anchor rope breaks the floatation in the boat will surface it, and the outfit will go downstream, half submerged with just parts of the boat showing. My son and I saved a man and his outfit on the Mississippi River years ago. He made a mistake in the current and he ended up losing his outfit and almost his life. After retrieving him and his cooler from the river we could watch his boat spinning on his anchor rope using our depth finder locator. He was very lucky , we saved his outfit ,once it surfaced and his life that day.

Greeting's from Alaska! When ever you run anything across or on water you leave a floatbag colored orange attached to the gunnel or bow or stern with double the amount of rope for the depth of water your running in. Snowmachiners do it year round even when they are running rivers in the summer in case they sink their sleds. Hard lesson to learn and costly as well. You will persevere your mindset is good with strong will, take care!

Your boat is likely closer to your property than you think as they tend to hang up on underwater snags. If you find it there may be so much water pressure on it that you won't be able to pull it out. But you never know. Also if you find it, be extremely careful that you don't get pulled underwater and pinned, or tangled up in the boat rope. It will be much safer if you have some help and equipment. I've seen boats try to pull a sunken boat out from a snag, and unable to get it to budge!

Really hate to hear about the boat but glad you werent in it after it sunk and went down stream as thats the most important take away. Setbacks suck especially one like this but you still have your health and thats the main thing! As you keep doing this the time/effort needed to produce a video will be reduced and your income in theory should go up so thats always a plus as well. Just popped up to Stittsville today to take the wife to her sister's for a weekend visit. Thought about your channel as I drove up 416 through some of the forested areas. While it's too late to help now, my Amish friends use an old wooden handled hole auger that cuts through hard clay fairly easily. I used it to dig 5 foot deep holed through soil, sand, then hard clay. The only thing that slows it down is rocky or gravel filled soils. If you've got to do it by hand, the Amish have a tool for it.

I looked up lowe boats and Thay have flotation built in the hull and meet coast guard requirements so your boat has probably floated down river . you could also build a plywood skiff and Orr's as I saw the material in this video .and watch them 🐻 enjoying the video s keep em coming from Abbotsford BC

How far is that big one meadow for setting up your starlink.? Might have to roll it on a dolly or wagon but would be an option. Glad you made it thru that safely. A boat would be paramount. Having a kayak would help you get down river or across river when you need to or in case of emergency situations. A cable crossing the river with a cable car or harness on a pulley would work for crossing as well.

I watch a lot of YT, this is the only channel I subscribe to. True honesty anywhere in our world today is scarce. I get why you might want to stay independent and not accept money directly, but you are missing a real opportunity . You work hard to create the content, there is no real reason not to allow people to help if they want to. The jeopardy with the boat, is a good lesson in how quickly things can go wrong. Clear those sweepers away when you have time so that its not a problem again. Always carry bear spray/air horn when you are in the bush. Stay safe so that we can all enjoy this journey.

That is terrible about your boat. Hope you can find it. Maybe elevation for the starlink is the answer. But the higher you get off the ground the more the risk to you. You will have to search from the last place you saw your boat then downstream. Hope the water is clear enough to see fairly deep. Time for a live replace my boat fund drive. $10,000 goal.
