Why not consider building your own wooden boat? It would be an interesting project to watch you do. You are quite handy with wood craft.

Awesome that they found the boat, wasn't expecting that is understatement of the year. I don't think anyone would be upset if you tickled that in the title for the algorithm, but also appreciate you aren't doing the full youtube nonsense either.

love the videos at some point you should consider taking a stance on preditors that will allow more chance to have chickens around and more stabe food source, not sure what your long term plan is if its going 100% off never needing to go to town other than to talk to people. slowly but surly it will be a nice place, make hey when the sun shines and you will be confortable before you know it.

I dont know it will help but ppl have been known to play running water on a stereo to direct beavers away from where they're building to somewhere more convenient...

Shawn I'm so happy you got your boat back. Tho it's looking mighty rough . Again at least you got out safe . So sorry you feel you are falling backwards . I would imagine your first at least 5 years will not be easy. Even when it's easy it's not really that easy youv just got used to all the hardships . But in the long run I think.a life out there is so much better than city life I envy you . Stay safe

Nice! What about making your own raft system from 50 gallon barrels some logs and rope? You'd be able to haul just about anything you would need and get most of it for free.

As a kid I lived in Maine and just had loads of spruce. We'd put the sawdust of spruce trees on the trail because it inhibits other plants from growing. You could start putting sawdust down on your trails and that should fend off some of the jungle.

I'm a die hard 2 stroke outboard enthusiast. That Yami 2 stroke will be fine if you get the water out and some oil in the cylinders. Rebuild the carbs (easy) and she should be good to go. New Cowling is gonna be expensive though. I hope you can find a good used one! I've been watching from the beginning. I truly enjoy your content. Keep it coming!!

OMG this guy......... I think is important to plan properly and make the experience of living off grid please full...... what a nightmare...... I think if you are not an organise person you could basically get kill in the wild.... all this looks quite messy.....

You're right. And I agree with you fully. What I notice most is that people that think this way and present this knowledge are never out here doing these things. You're not wrong. You're fully accurate in your statement.

@@cabinriveroutdoors Of course there will always be things out of your control, but what I mean, that's also something to prevent and to inspire you to be even more careful, prepare, plan, organise, and learnt to be just more serious, but that's my opinion, I'm planning to do something similar to your adventure, but I'll do it properly, and i'm not talking about more money, but just, be more structured, seriously surviving the wild, plus building a place there is not a joke. Love your videos tho.

If you are ever in that situation again with nothing to cook in, try shaping some aluminum foil into the shape of a bowl and cook low and slow. I've never tried it but I think it would work better than the inside of a soda can!

Awesome to see you’re getting your boat back. Hopefully it’s in good condition and usable and the motor hopefully can be rebuilt again. Also, for that across the water looks like you should be able to knock down that tree next to it and create a bridge right across there, good luck
