Just when I thought things were about to get easier. Not out here.
I've said it once before, and I'll say it again... If you want to test your resilience and your resolve? Do this. You'll curse your ambitions and imagination for wanting to live the absurd, and the next day you'll frolic in personal glory of petty accomplishments that appear as major victories. Join me for this one. It's fun to watch others suffer in the wild.
The few people who inhabit this vast region are remarkable.
Be sure book with Robson Valley Outfitters when you decide to visit this vast, wild region. www.mountainhunt.com

What about the Dutch woman - 'Traveling Rosie', who bought an old cabin in the wilds of Sweden? She does some very nice (interior) finish carpentry. So many interesting people in this world... Correction: her series of YT videos is under the name of "Roaming Wild Rosie".

I am a relatively new subscriber of a couple of weeks. I know lots of people have said it, but your content is truly fantastic. I have eagerly awaited this week's video and the pictures at the end made me clap with joy! Your videos are better than some of the so called reality shows on TV about life off grid or homesteading, etc. Thank you for taking the time to film and edit something for us to watch every week. Now... the wait begins again, the wait for next week's video!

.50 cents from every subscriber buys a new styker and jet outboard. lol Plenty of people would like to support your channel and “your new job”. Accepting support should is just a part of it. Also recognize the chain of events and stop the compounding effect. So much hassle/danger was created because you pushed off the bank above sweepers prior to firing the engine. Put a sling around a tree with the shackle and have the rope come back to the boat so you can pull one side to depart once the engine is running. Maybe when the water is low later this summer you can cut those sweepers in front of your property. Good episode stay strong!

Man am I happy that somebody found your boat!!! I am also thrilled to see your friends and family sending you stuff!! Every time I watch these videos of yours, I get closer and closer to fulfilling my dream of doing what you are doing. I have started a list of what I would need, and planning. I have about 8-10 years before I retire. And that is my timeline to prepare. So while I watch you go through all these trials and tribulations, all I can imagine is how happy and fulfilled you must be. To be doing what thousands of other folks just dream about. And my offer still stands, if you need a hand for a couple weeks, let me know, I’d fly up there and be free labor( wouldn’t cost you a dime or supplies). Keep strong!!

Hi Shawn, as a temporary bridge, why don't you take the chainsaw down and cut the top layer of the log off. That way it would at least be a flat cross-beam to walk on. Might be worth a shot. Even an emergency cabin on the other side of the river. Keep up the good work 🇮🇪☘️

Best ending ever. No disrespect meant, but part of the reason you feel like you're not making progress and everything is going wrong is because you have so many projects on the go at once. You need to make a list of all the things you want to do with your property, big and small then start by putting the month or year you think you can achieve it next to each one, then list them by priority, make notes on what you will need for materials or help and then start and finish the projects in order. I know weather and parts, etc, play a role, so you can definitely have a couple on the go at once, but that's it, knuckle down and finish one before you start another. You are your own worst enemy dude, you are plenty smart, hard working as hell and resourceful- you'll start knocking off projects much faster this way with minimum trauma and drama. Trust me, I speak from experience 😉 Keep up the grest work. Awesome job on the videos- they make my week!

I might focus on that trail. Make it passable, then rideable by atv, get another log next to the slippery one and make a small bridge, and work towards getting your car closer. Maybe split your days and work on the trail till lunch and then work on the cabin. That trail is vital to your "commuting" just my opinion anyway. I appreciate you sir. I would in addition, either fix up the logging cabin on the road side or build another cabin before the beaver pond just in case of "emergancy" over night accomodation, should the river be too high or snow too deep, so you don't have to walk all the way back to your car (especially in winter)

Yes... Fixing the trail was my first thought when I learned of your setup. If it was a lake: boat would be the way. But rivers are fickle, and yours is way swift. Personally, I'd build out that trail so the whole length is ATV suitable and I'd run it along the river to a suitable crossing point and build a steel pontoon boat and shuttle across the short distance. Plus I'd build moorings on both sides. I say this as if it's easy... You are a champ for taking on the challenge - so it your way, but above is how I would do it.

Dude. Your positivity is infectious. Keep it up there, bud. So happy they found your boat. Now just make sure you clean the crap out of that engine. Pull spark plugs and drain any water. Change the oil. Anything and everything you can. Turn it over quite a few times once you change the oil without the spark plugs in. If there's any electronic distribution make sure that's good and dry as well. That's some fantastic news! Now your boat has one hell of a story and some battle scars to prove it! Keep awesome, buddy!

The only channel I’m never disappointed in pressing the like button before I watch the video!! Now spill the beans, my friend…You must share the music source at the beginning & end of your videos? Sending tons of abundance, love, & kindness to you, from the Great PNW & thank you for starting my day with a smile!!

Shawn when we were young at the bush camp we put up two cables to cross the river. Each side we would put the cable higher on one side and so we could carry our load with pulleys on the cables. If the will help you .crossing the tree we put 2x8 crewed to the tree to walk on

AWESOME news about the boat and motor! It looks like they should both be repairable. You may have to wait for the funds to do it I'm sure, but at least it's not a total loss! Chin up brother, you're doing a fantastic job. I can definitely understand that it's frustrating hitting those lows. I just had my cabin full of equipment robbed this spring. I guess someone needed it all more than I did...... Not much we can do when things like this happen. We take our licks, and keep moving forward. The dream is worth it though, and you're doing an exceptional job sir.

Shawn , amazing news on the boat , congrats 👏 🎉. Great video this week , yep the battles real , but little by little your progressing. The track I think is the key to success, the rivers easy but only accessible for a period of the year , could you do me a favor and give that beaver an extra punch for me , he's pissing me off to and I'm across the world in Australia.. Stay safe mate , warmest regards from Melbourne 🇦🇺

I can't get enough of this more videos Please. Hopefully you can get some good phone and use that for making and uploading videos. You are a tough guy. Hopefully you can set up your patreon so people can help you out financially and rent some bulldozer or any machine for clearing your path to your cabin. I can see in your face you are very tired. Health is wealth. Take Care. Im Happy they found your Boat❤. Take Care.

Great news!!! When it feels like life is kicking you down, stop, rest and simply backup and regroup. Real shame it's so wet and a skid steer isn't option to clear the path. Bobcats with the right attachments are beast's. Try and have a Happy Canada Day weekend 🇨🇦 Hope the motor is salvageable....
