Family can literally be one’s worst enemy. I’m glad you moved and are okay. Don’t feel the rush or need for reconciliation because “family”. Take your time to heal and if they come to the realization of their wrong and apologize to you then you can start considering reconciliation then. Wish you the best💘

I’m so sorry you had to go through this, Success brings envy especially from the closest of people. Your money is your money, if you chose to spend it on plants it is your decision! And there is absolutely no fault there, don’t let anyone make you feel guilty. As an Igbo girl, The Igbo culture really supports a form of entitlement mentality, entitlement to your money and even your time, and the worse part is that they are most times entitled and lazy….they push responsibilities to you with all selfishness and forget that you’re a whole ass human with your own passions, future aspirations and goals. This “family” thing is the reason a lot of people especially men are still stagnant and do not pass a ceiling. It’s as if as your climbing the ladder, people are pulling your legs down. This whole situation was a blessing in disguise, hopefully now you get to do you and plan your life and it’s trajectory properly and expand your empire to the biggest plant business in Africa. Success is the best revenge…GOOD LUCK! As your name implies, your God is BIG…no one can stand against you when he’s there to fight for you.

It’s so heartbreaking to be hurt and assaulted by you loved ones. I’m happy you’re out. I think I read in one of your posts on IG that you went for therapy. If not, you need one. My interpretation of all that happened is that you were due to leave (like Abraham) and this painful situation is what has birthed the new space you are in now(just like delivery in humans is a painful process but with a beautiful outcome). Please find it in your heart to forgive (it won’t be easy), heal and move on. You need that for your own good. I can see the comping around in future to ask for forgiveness. I am so, so sorry this happened to you. You are doing the right thing by cutting yourself off from them. I had a physically abusive mother, and the best thing I ever did for myself was break off my relationship with her. Praise God you found a new place. You said it, God takes what the devil meant for bad and uses it for good. You are so strong, and I am happy you found the strength to continue on with your plant content. Thanks for sharing your story. It struck home when you said your "family was close-knit and have been through thick and thin". It's indeed been a journey for you, a good one, because, you have found a purpose and turned it into a financial instrument. What do you think about convening the first-ever 'Plant, garden and gardeners' forum? The idea popped into my head when you referred to roadside plant sellers. Perhaps it's time for horticulturists, plant growers, and loves to have some 'plant-based' discussion, knowledge exchange and development, and how to make the business sustainable. Cheers!
