I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro and I'm confused... why do I need software when the drone already has waypoint capability add timed photos? Looks like all I need is the 3D software at the end...

Can anyone confirm if this works for the DJI Neo? I'll get one if that's the case :)

Nice build! I’m struggling to find a drone that can fly cinema cameras like Red V-Raptor and Arri Alex Mini LF. In 2016 DJI had the Matrice 600 with the Cine payload gimbal for around $4,500. The only option I can find today is Freefly Alta X which has been around for about 7 years and it’s $38,000 for the drone, controller, and Movi gimbal 💀 is there a Cine option for the Holybro?

If I were to buy a drone for this purpose (or a 3D model rather) how would you go about needing to replace a battery through a flight if need be? I’m interested in getting a 3D model of 4-5 acres of land with ~80 feet of elevation change, so should I be concerned of the change in workflow if a battery change is needed? Would that impact the photos/photo-taking process/outcome?

Is there an another program similar to Reality Capture that works with the Apple Mac Book computers that can be used to generate the free 3D renderings? Thanks

Hello, thanks for the video. I just want to know if you have tried doing a mission where the drone lost connection to the RC and encountered an obstacle. Did it avoid the obstacle or stay hovering? If the drone stayed hovering, did it remain that way until the battery was low and needed to return home?

The most USELESS activity in the world. Really now.. you guys are really something. The futility of it all. Now you nerds are going to 'map' ? MAP WHAT!? it has all been mapped. These drones are 99% purchased by people who 1. Cannot film 2. Don't know photography and have no freaking use for it beyond the fact that it is basically the RC toy car they still crave since childhood. They never grew up! How many times are you going to film the same sunset, the same canyon and the same 'vista's' as every one else has done already a million times and then post it on YT as the 50 millionth HD 8K drone footage. Please... the madness of it all. GROWN MEN no less. alking about "DJI Mini 4, DJI Air 3/3s, and ANY DJI Mavic 3/Classic/Pro/Cine line. If you own a DJI Mini SE/2/3/3 Pro or DJI Air 2/2s or Mavic 2" like some literal robot parrot drone who has no idea wtf he is even supposed to be doing in this reality. Meanwhile not even a few 100km further they use the same tech as these huge nerdy grown kids do to blow each other's brains out. Literally. YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP!

Suggestion. Start this video with: this is for windows only. So I don’t sit thru 14 minutes only to find that they payoff for this whole video doesn’t work on a Mac.

To create a dummy mission you don't need to have the drone in the air or even connected. In waypoint mode simpy tap on the map to create a waypoint.

Honestly, I think for 1K, you get more bang for your buck with the Air 3. That said, you lose upgradability. However, if you are upgrading... then you are in a different budget anyway. Now, if you can do a custom built platform like this with live feed and thermal for under 2K... I will be interesting in seeing it. But this.... this isn't really that great to me. Sorry!

I have a mini 4 pro . I can seem to get into the file system of the RC2 controller . I can see the SD card and new file to upload but can't seem to get to the area to load it into ???

Very impressive, well done. I would caution anyone seeking to make money doing this that, in some states, unless you are a licensed engineer or surveyor, you must be careful and not sell anything that could be interpreted as authoritative.

Maybe you could have mentioned the limitations of this approach, in particular the maximum number of waypoints (which forces you to only have each line edge, leading to the weird wavy flight). Also, those drones don't have a global shutter, so it's nice to remember that you'll have rolling shutter effects that may or may not be an issue depending on cases.

What gimbal camera system would you suggest that could also do video and photo?

Would this work to create a 2D map printout? I have never done any mapping but was wanting to create an updated map printout of my grandpas farm. Just don't want to go through the trouble of creating the waypoint mission and capturing all the images if I wont be able to take it somewhere to have a large map printed out.

I´m completely new in this topic but I expected a more detailed model. And another question please: what is the reason to use the camera 90 degress and downwards and not for expample 45 degrees? Especially the vertical walls are not very detailed and more another angle could help?
