I was also abused by my friends father, from the age of 8, until 13. Both my parents worked, so arrangements had been made for me to go there each day after school for a few hours until my mum finished work. I'm a mother and grandmother in my 50s now, and despite everything that man did to me, the only bit I still struggle with is when I eventually found the courage to tell my mum at age 10, she refused to believe me, and even threatened to have me put in a children's home if i said things like that again. Her refusal or denial in believing me, resulting in the abuse escalating and continuing for another 3 years, until we thankfully moved away due to my dad's job. On the plus side, it made me hyper vigilant and open talking with my own children, and now grandchildren, to ensure it never happened again 💜

I believe you and I’m so sorry that happened if it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to my sister at literally the same age but thankfully my grandmother who once brought her as an infant to the hospital from a level 7 coma this man put her in because my mom refused to called the police and he’s doing a life sentence but my mom never forgave her and was jealous of a 10 YEAR OLD! and made sure she got the worst beatings from that point on until she turned 13 and was big enough and snapped during a beating and beat the ever living hell out of my mom with the hangers she loved to use so she was sent to fostercare we all were but at different times and states woman couldn’t even keep custody of one out of seven children but somehow thinks she’s a good mom despite her first born committing suicide and her second doing a life sentence for being a pedophile 3rd is a prostitute and the rest drug addicts but she didn’t fail apparently ik that backstabbing Will never heal and you’ll never get the love that you desperately need but that just means you need to ask a different question to which your life can be the answer to you may not see it but Karma will come just not in the form you want or can see you win by living your life happily somethings she could never do and when you realize that you become so much more content with it I’m a stranger but know I love you❤️ and I believe you and if you ever want to talk I’m an understanding ear

When I was 12 years old my friend's father groomed me too. I would hang out there after school and he would hang around us. He was the cool dad, the kind of dad everyone loved to be around. Little did I know that he was around all the time because he was trying to get close to me. I would hang out with my friend and he would just stare at me across the room longingly. One day he passed me a note telling me that he liked me. I remember as a middle school kid, I wasn't very pretty like the other girls and I didn't get a lot of attention at school so I enjoyed the attention I got from him. After a lot of grooming, he raped me repeatedly for a year. I never thought of it as rape because I didn't say no, and I never told anyone because I always felt like I was equally at fault. It wasn't until I turned 26 that I finally realized it wasn't my fault, that this man took my innocence from me without my consent- because I wasn't old enough to consent. And I always wanted to wait until marriage, but he took that from me. The man I married - my husband and I actually did wait until marriage. But I wish he could've been my first, and not my friends evil father from when I was 12. Thanks for sharing your story, it gave me the courage to share mine here.

What I wish a lot of teenage girls would understand, is that it is NOT ok to have an adult male as a friend. No matter how innocent the man makes it seem. There is no reason for a grown man and a teenage girl to be or act as 'friends'. And if a grown man is acting as a friend and tells them that they are friends, that is a huge red flag. The only relationship between them and a grown man should either be immediately family (father figure or uncle) or a friend's father and that's it. They should never be alone together for any reason. That's just the way it is.

Its very interesting how many of these abuse cases are amongst the Christian cults. “ oh, he was a good Christian, a church goer”, is what we constantly hear in these abuse cases! What the H does an old male dominated, misogynistic ancient book have to do with this young ladies story? Also why do you believe “god” is a male? Considering 85% of all violent crime on earth is committed by men!

Jen, you are very brave to tell this story. I found it extremely interesting. I can appreciate what you are saying about your feelings of being a "bad" person and having depression. I e of my good friends in high school was truly beautifu l and I was desperately in love with her, but she never seemed to notice. She had boyfriends who were in their late twenties, and said she preferred older guys. I did end up taking her to the senior prom because her finance was out of country. I moved on and married a wonderful girl, and we just marked our 49th anniversafy. That girl has divorced twice and finally stuck with number 3. It took me years to realize that she had been s#+&@Lou abused by her father! I have not included all the details and clues as it would take too long. One of the main clues was she never returned to her high school home, even when her brother died. I hope she finally got some counseling as I believe husband #2 was a shrink. After I finally figured out what was going on, I felt so stupid for not seeing all of the obvious clues during my high school years.

you are a true survivor, i know some people nitpick about women not coming out earlier, but i don't think there's a rule in how or when someone like yourself decides to make it known. because there not you, however one thing we all can relate to is, when certain go on in our lives that we know somewhere in the back of our mind we don't like the situation we're in, a part of us wants to say something, but the other side says we should keep to us. now truthfully, as hard as it might be to tell someone, getting that burden off your chest is the best thing for you in the long run. we know even if we tried to keep it to ourselves, we'll never truly move on from it, which can affect our relationships with people, our parents. even friends you might say something hurtful once in awhile you didn't mean. so im sure for you, finally coming out when you did, that must've been a huge burden lifted off of you. for the record iam a believer in God, but he would not approve of someone that looks like how a man of God would dress groom a young girl. but no matter what place were in, even in a church there's no guarantee for a child's safety, most of the time you can get pastors or priest who would never do that, but i think it hurts worse when a pastor is usually someone you can trust crosses that line, but were all human beings at the end of the day regardless of a person's beliefs or background. being too nice can come across as someone with bad intentions, an adult can usually find that to be a little off, but when we're young we don't understand how warning signs work, because it's our parents responsibility usually to make sure that there kids are safe. but even adults can overlook things they don't mean, how did your parents react when they found out.

When I was a kid my parents had their adult male friend over regularly and he would call me his girlfriend often jokingly in front of my parents. And I was visibly bothered about it one day and he continued to tease and my parents told him “ok that’s enough she obviously doesn’t like that” and he never came over again after that. I was like 10. Another one of their friends was a business owner in tech they made later on when I was about 15. He tried to repair my iPod screen and it turned black and he offered to buy me a new one if I traded him my old one and I was like “um no that’s fine I’ll just get my own. “ and he said “why not would I see nudes?” Then he laughed. He ended up buying me a new iPod anyway and I never gave him my old iPod. He was insisting I give it even though i already said no, he thought I would feel bad and give him my old iPod for the new one. Nope. Such a creep.

I was molested by my stepfather for 7 years. The things he did were horrific. The damage he caused will be lifelong. Recovery isn’t easy but necessary. My voice was never heard but it is being heard now. One person at a time. I’m strong enough now and want to share my story to continue bringing awareness. Please choose to fight against molestation/ sex abuse WITH ME!, My fight is just getting started. This fight (for me) is no longer about my abuse, it’s about the society that failed me and my determination to bring awareness. Stop Sexual Abuse

I faced the opposite situation. Back in the late 50's, the local church minister drove a 47 Pontiac, which he used to drive around the local area, ten miles or so from the church, picking up 'kids' to take them to chruch for an evening of 'youth fellowship.' This vehicle was desinged for a maximum of six people, but often carried nine or even ten. This was also long before seatbelts became a standard part of the vehicle. I was one of the older guys, always sat in the back (often the only guy) and seems the gals often fought for the priviledge of who was going to sit on MY lap. And, believe me it was because they wanted to and NOT because they didn't. Our best and most remembered fellowship was often before church services. Of course, after services, then he'd have to return everyone back again to their respective homes. Fond memories of church.

NO Adult...No Matter What their Profession... NO matter what title they hold... NO Matter What economic Status,... NO Matter What their Culture... NO Matter what race, Creed, or Color... NO ADULT wheather, they are a Adult Caretaker of children, teacher, parents, aunts, uncles, or anyone else, should have any sexual attraction to children, this is very disturbing to me, Very Strange, Odd, Demented, Sick, Weird, and Outrageous to me. *THERE IS NOTHING about a child, male, or female is attractive sexually, Nothing *Children are children as should be treated as such. *They are NOT mature *They have NO COMPREHENSION of Sex. They have NO COMPREHENSION of Romance *Sex and intimacy is in nature biologically is designed for Adults, NOT CHILDREN. I Cannot Comprehend any Adult thinking of a child a such a inappropriate manner. *This is a previous response I wrote to an article on Child Marriage; I don't understand why anyone would attempt to marry a child, this is unthinkable, children are not capable of Romantic Relationships, they cannot process adult Relationship lifestyles. *They are children and function as children, they are being placed, and forced in adult Relationship situations, and they cannot process nor understand it until they are Adults. *Nothing about a child is capable of handling a Romantic Relationships, Physical Relationships, Mentality handling Adult Relationships, and Lifestyles and financial matters. *A Child cannot understand the Deeper Matters of the Hearts, or Deep involved Love connections etc. *So, it baffles me to think any man would be interested in a relationship with a child. *Why not choose an Adult Woman who is matured in Mind, Body, and Spirit, intelligence...? *I could NEVER be attracted to s child. *(I have NEVER, NEVER BEEN attracted to a child nor teenager male or female) *Children need to be focused on getting their early childhood education, and growing up around other children and playing with other children. *I cannot fathom why a man would be interested in a Child as a Bride,( or any intimate sexual manner whatsoever) Sexual attraction towards a child is Madness, and Unnatural, and Demented thinking *A Child could NEVER appreciate Romance, Poems, Dinning, or a Dinner date etc. Really! marry a child...this makes No sense to me! (I have NEVER, NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN attracted to a child nor teenager male or female) This is beyond my comprehension.... They’re not attracted to the child for romance, they use that to lure the victim and the victims get younger and younger. They are only interested in sexually abusing the child. Not Romance. They abuse the child, not love them.

As the man (Gen 1:26-28) KJV, a husband (Gen 2:21-25) and a father (Gen 3:16), the minister of God (Rom 13), teacher (Eph 4) and one of the survivors who was bullied in school, I am so sorry this happened to you. Every time I see and/or hear anything like this, I see my wife or my daughters. If I could have protected you from being groomed by "it", I would have, but I can not be everywhere all at once.
