When I was 7, my grandma used to tell me stories about the WW2. When Japan invaded the Philippines. She saved a lot of peoples life, especially her mother when they were running from the soldiers & her mom slipped at a bridge. So my grandma was able to hold her moms hand & saved her. & she was very young back then. Their family all went to a mountain to hide & then suddenly my Grandma saw a soldier, so she run & told her uncle, they escaped. Stories like this is something that we should cherish and share to others. ❤

For me my great-grandmother is my hero. My family is from Germany and near the end of the war the nazi officer from my town came to her and demanded that her sons (my grandpa and his brother) had to go to war (they were teenagers back then) but she wouldn't have it and screamed at him, in the middle of the street "You started this war on your own, so finish it on your own, without my children." To her luck the war ended a week later. As a german you had to pay the "Entnazifizierungsgebühr" (give money to the Americans so you weren't seen as a Nazi anymore). She went to pay it but they told her she didn't have to pay because she was on the list of people who were meant to be sent to a concentration camp.

My story of how my badass great great grandpa survived the Armenian Genocide: My great great grandpa survived the Armenian genocide of 1915. He was from Artvin which used to be part of Armenia but now part of Turkey. When Kurdish and Turkish soldiers attacked his village he killed one of the soldiers with his hands and took his gun then went on to protect others and take them to Georgia for protection (Javakh region). He later joined the Armenian and Turkish war of lake Van. Tsar Nicholas of Russia then captured him and put him in jail for being in a group that wanted independence for Armenia. He then got out of jail. My great great grandpa also knew excellent Turkish and used it for his advantage.

I don't understand this map of Poland in the 1:11 and 4:00 film. Poland did not exist then. This area belonged to Germany. It was not Polish but German land. After World War II, Poland returned to the map.

My dad got mad about this video because it might soon be a crime to call out polish complicit death camps... Following this story, I'm not doubting, but he thought is was odd how the whole diamond bribe played out. The nazi could've taken the diamond and still ended up killing her
@bethyngalw7 жыл бұрын
yes, he could, but they are still human beings, and a diamond is a lot, a large gift makes people amenable, even a callous nazi. it puts pressure on a person to return the favor. It might simply have not occurred to him to do what you suggested in the moment, but given that they didn't actually kill all the workers that day, it sounds like much of what they did was done on the impulse of the guards. Don't underestimate the power of a gift on human psychology.
@kingamoskal99666 жыл бұрын
Anaon REB But the death camps weren't built by Polish... They had nothing to do with it, Germans built those camps in other countries too, not only Poland. Poland was really weak at That Time and was under seizure. Of course there were some people Who killed someone, but those were German death camps, not polish death camps.

Oh my gosh. There’s a book called tattooist of auschwitz, it’s about a guy named lale sokolov. He fell in love with guta/Gita. He was the tattooist and brought her extra bread and chocolate from the people outside. He payed them with diamonds that Gita gave him. There are photos of them both in the back of the book. Gita looks EXACTLY like this woman’s grandmother, who survived the holocaust. I think they’re the same person. Oh my gosh.
@poe70573 жыл бұрын
