I bought one of the kits a long time ago, and it was an awesome learning experience, especially soldering the copper without leaks. Since then, I’ve modified it extensively-added tri-clamp fittings, switched from direct fire to electric, implemented PID controls, and fully automated it. I’ve had a blast building new columns, experimenting with forced reflux, gin setups, plated designs, and managed systems. -- Thank you for your efforts over the years. I've enjoyed learning from the videos and seeing the company grow. Cheers!

I added a hot water heating element as a heat source and soldering a 1/4 inch cold water line around the top 2 1/2 inches of the column. It was a fun little still.

Great story and thank you for the inspiration. I was building a chocolate bonbon business from scratch a few years back because I loved the process. Even as I grew the business as a one man shop, I could never make any money. Quite the same story. Good or bad I had to close shop right before Covid happened which would've kill my business anyway. To know that you went thru the same things I was going thru makes me want to try again with maybe a different business model. Continued success!

American dream, baby! So many people just don't get it. They see someone who has become successful and say "oh, we'll you're lucky" or "it's because of your privilege", and any other excuse, rather then recognize the discipline, drive, desire, effort, consistency, sticking to it for years, and on and one.

I’m in a similar spot to where you were 15 years ago. I have something I’ve built but don’t pay myself enough for-mostly because it started with friends as customers. Over time, it’s grown, but I still struggle to charge more, even though I know I could. I keep thinking, "If I were the customer, I wouldn’t want to pay that much," and it feels wrong to charge higher prices. It's tough though and I don't enjoy turning people down because I don't have time for more orders. With school I really had to stop altogether, except for a few exceptions but I do it cause I genuinely enjoy. Im just about finished with my schooling but really want to implement this idea how you did. That begs the question though on what product to choose with your skillset. Cool story, good video.
