Very good ground training, lounging and behavior modification. Try a scope on him in his front and hind gut. He might have ulcers or worms which horses show as mouthy behaviors. Great work with him though. I really think you need to treat him with some good worm packs and ulcer meds. Super healthy looking horses can have ulcers and worm infestations. I really think your work is important to show other people that riding isn't always necessary to enjoy your horse! Good job

The progress of Gaio is very visible! He's much softer in his movements, calmer with his head and he stands still! This is really such an amazing horse.. His personality is as huge as Mount Everest is high.. I can fully understand why his current owner would not want to sell him because he is just one of a kind.. But you 2 truly are a match made in heaven!

Gaio is giving some Australian shepherd energy: high energy, all over the place but loves to work. He's so happy to have a challenge. He has such a bond with you. :) it's so awesome to see! I remember seeing initial videos with him where I was like oh my, this will be a challenge lol. But he's a lovely boy! Very much aims to please :)

With Gaio using his mouth all the time, it is like he is talking to himself. Jesse could include that in the performance, if there will be an act. You could use a recording of Gaio’s “voice”, grumpily complaining about what Jesse is asking him to do, in a funny way. “How many times do I have to run in a circle? Oh, wow, now we are changing direction. That’s exciting. Watch that stick, buddy.” But better. 😂 +1 for the long mane.

Im glad you brought up Giao's mane! Ive been so happy seeing it grow. I think Gaio would look incredible with a nice long mane. His colors have so much contrast it would really pop and make him look exotic. It's so awesome seeing all the work youve put in with him, continuing to build that bond through work and play. I feel like his respect for you has grown tremendously.

Jesse, his progress has improved a lot! He has become more and more comfortable, confident, and really has more control over his body. He has all the signs of ADHD 😁! His movements have become so much more softer. I wouldn’t want his core personality to change; he is delightful to watch,and always brings a smile on my face! What a wonderful animal you have there! I can see that his attachment to you is stronger than ever! He never takes his eyes off of you. His trust is growing in you. I can’t imagine any other person training him; you are definitely his person! Thank you for keeping us updated on everything that is happening there. You are such a wonderful person. Fantastic video Jesse! It’s amazing to watch Gaio’s progress, particularly when remembering his traumatic background. He is doing unbelievably well, and it’s all thanks to your love and patience. Remarkable to see him like this today and you should be very proud. Galo is a “busy” horse. You are perfect for him, patient and loving. Galo seems happy to please you; you are perfect for each other. I like a long mane. I know it’s more work, but it makes the horse look different from other horses, kind of like his signature.

Glad everything is falling into place at the new residence. Of course, there’s still a pending move once you purchase the next farm … but then you’ve always known this was just a temporary fix. Hope Antares will be able to calm down more and feel more at home. It must be upsetting for you when he is out of sorts, especially when there were few issues at your last home. As for Gaio … like wow, wow, wow! He’s really come a long ways Jesse. I can still remember when you were working with him in an outdoor paddock (you didn’t own him at the time) and he was like major ADHD … look at him now!?! He really has come far in a short period of time … probably more due to the fact that you’re on premises and can work with him a lot more. I assume your next place will have both indoor and outdoor riding arenas … and enough space to stable all the horses and ponies … plus room for more! I like Gaio’s mane longer … be nice to see just how long you can get it to grow! Thanks for the updates and looking forward to the next VLOG! I like Gaio’s mane a bit longer, and yes, shaved back from his poll a bit to show and refine his neck. Jesse, I really like to see you blocking Gaio from mouthing you so much and maintaining your “bubble” of space around yourself ( and giving him his own bubble of space!). No anger at all, just a timely arm block from his head and moving right on… I can see good progress happening! I think it’s also effecting his good general behavior. When you have him stay at a distance, then run toward you, he stopped at a good safe distance from you (especially when you fell back on your bum, lol!) - and when you bring him in close to circle you, he’s precise and careful, he gives you such beautiful rear disengagements! His attention was mostly on the camera (us!) when free longing, it was funny when he trotted up to lip the lens, lol. Hey Jesse, a thought. Have you ever played low, slow classical music for him in his stall? It could give him a change of focus, encourage relaxation, well being. Keep up the good work with Gaio, he’s doing great! 👍🌟

Gaio is doing great! I was smiling so much watching how much fun he was having. I have a soft spot for those sensitive horses. They're so eager to learn, just so many people don't know how to communicate with them. Gaio reminds me a lot of a mare I've been working with since July. She wants to please so much she ends up trying to be an over achiever and gets frustrated when she can't figure out what I want right away. We've been working on her emotions and it's ok to not know right away what I want. But when she finally gets it, she'll immediately remember it for next time. I also used to have a gelding who wanted to please so bad he'd have a tantrum if he couldn't immediately figure out what I wanted him to do. But he was one of the best horses I've had the honor of knowing, because he was so sensitive

He's probably never been able to trust and been misunderstood his entire life. Synergy at its best. I don’t know if it was trained or if it was his natural instinct but I was so impressed at how Gaio immediately backed away when Jesse tripped, very important safety technique you are both doing amazing and clearly loving the work and each other ☺️

It is a lusitanian horse, the only one breed that can be used in bullfightings because is intelligent and avoids the bulls' attacks by instinct. That horse would never step a person, specially who treats him and him loves. That breed has thousands of years and are fighting and hunting horses.
