Here is what I did to get my fuzzy dwarf lionfish off live food and onto frozen food. What do you feed your lion?

I love all the skulls what are they made of? Are they concrete? Or what? Umh how come goldfish or live minnows aren't good but frozen silver sides are, they where once living fish what makes them diffrent? I also have a lion fish,have had him 8 weeks now and feed minnows. Thank you

The skulls are a mix of mortar and aragonite that are reef safe. As for the goldfish, they are fatty in nature and not good to feed long term. If you’re going to feed live I would do ghost shrimp and feed them food right before feeding the lionfish. The silversides are more nutritious by nature than goldfish. I also chop it up and get the bones out and only feed the meat of the silversides. A good and varied diet is key to overall health of your fish.

I’m pretty sure I’m getting a dwarf lion soon. I’m wondering is this tank going to be the permanent home for your lion? I’ve seen conflicting debate between 29/32 cube is fine and no you need a 55. What’s your plan with yours?

The 32 is It’s home. Mine doesn’t swim around anyway so it’s doing just fine. Mine likes to anchor itself at the top, on the overflow slots and hangs out in a cave or even the rock work. Most of the time I see it laying down rather than swimming lol. The only time it really swims is when I’m feeding it haha.

I have those same gloves! One of them finally ripped though, need to order a new pair. They’re great.

I found an even better pair that are non slip and more sturdy and maneuverable, here’s the link: www.amazon.com/772-Nitrile-Chemical-Resistant-Gloves/dp/B004A9KI7W?pd_rd_w=awPcO&pf_rd_p=de28a4b0-e3d5-4d62-a7ec-045d2f5964b4&pf_rd_r=YEEJBRRSQMVZ065KFZ9T&pd_rd_r=039d7222-3533-43c7-957c-3f57e418aeb1&pd_rd_wg=QQT3O&pd_rd_i=B004A9KI7W&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_rp_26_sc

@@SaltFishTV thanks for the tip. I recently got a black volitan and was looking up videos. I guess I got lucky because he immediately goes for frozen krill and silversides off the tongs already! Even though at the pet store they told me he was only eating live food. I wonder if they just didn't know how to feed frozen properly.

I just added a dwarf lionfish yesterday doesn't wanna eat
@SaltFishTV Жыл бұрын
That’s very normal, just keep trying and use tongs to target feed. If it goes too long get some ghost shrimp to feed so it can at least eat something if it won’t take to frozen right away.

@@SaltFishTV okay thanks so much, how is your lion doing now?

@@evanbernicke9993 Unfortunately Spike passed a while back for no reason, but such is the life when you are purchasing wild caught fish. You never know what other things they can be carrying.

Looks like a male to me they say online you count the rings on its pectoral fins femals have between 4 to 6 lines and the males have 6 to 10 so if you have six like mine you are pretty much stuck at a transgender fish 😂
