Being able to see your opponent will grant 0 advantages, because then both players will want to switch their lineups to adjust to the other one’s, it would be an extremely unfair advantage if when you see their lineup, you are able to switch to a different one and they can’t.

2k6 play now online had leaderboards and it was perfect! Gave us something to work towards. This new format forces me to play other modes which I really don't want to do. It's just saddening that they had something so good 13 yrs ago that worked and now they've ruined it. 5 pauses was the 2nd dumbest idea for play now. It would be ridiculous if you could decline a match with no consequence, matchmaking itself would become a competition since everybody would look for the worst guy, and the people that are good would not be able to find a match, even if their record was only slightly good, most people would avoid them since the good players want to keep their good record and bad players dont want to get smashed. There is a reason why there is a time penalty in for example league of legends when you decline too many matches, there is a reason why your idea was never implemented in any successful game ever, its because players cant have that type of control, it would ruin the fun for people who are good and just wanna hop in and play not caring about whethet their opponent is good or bad - the game is supposed to be a competition, not the matchmaking. Obviously if you look through the lense of whats best for you your idea is good for you, but the community would pay for your individual comfort, and eventually you would too, since you would become either the pried on noob or avoided veteran.

I think with the pause limit, they're trying to add realism because in real life, you don't have a pause button and a majority of the settings we change in pause can be changed either during the game or in time out. I agree that it's probably not a necessary change, nor is it the worst thing. I'd say give it some time (like a month or so) and see if it's adjustable or unplayable.

To be honest with you, you should be able to do everything for picking your plays during timeouts just like you can in the pause menu. Currently, you can only pick sets during timeouts but not actual plays. This is where 2K fails at.

Play Now online needs to have the option to play at different skill level. The default novice skill level is pathetic. Player Awareness alone is grade school level at best. Pivoting is atrocious. Player speed is a joke. The defensive force field has no place here. Fatigue drains way to fast. The Tier system is outdated. I hate mirror games and don't appreciate that I am being forced to play them. It totally feels unnatural as far as gameplay goes. It feels closer to robots running around on the screen. Maybe Mr. Mike Wang has run his course at 2k. He oversees a bland and boring game every year. Even the 5 min qts are outdated. 7 minutes gives you a more realistic NBA score. Or just the option to choose what myself and the opponent chooses. We're in a time of unlimited memory space. But these games are still created otherwise. Time to vacate 2k, Mr. Mike Wang. Obviously you have hit a creative wall.

That would make you get the same matchup over and over again. The last year tiers weren t bad IMO. For me I would let the all time teams all in the same tier because despite there is some differences between some of them they shouldn t be matched with most of teams mainly because the bench of the all time teams are starting lineups for most of the other teams. Then the warriors and the more op historic teams would be on tier 2. And then the teams that were tier 3 would face the rest of the historic teams. Than put tier 4 for the teams that would get the last playoffs seeds or would almost get them and tier 5 the worst teams. And then having us decide if we only want teams from the same tier or if they could match us up against teams from other tiers. Because I would get a lot of all time teams while I would be playing with historic teams last year. Or just simply a screen like if u were playing offline

I find play now online is impossible to play for gameplay reasons. Where can I start. First the glitch where I change my uniform but always end up with the default uniform. Secondly 2k is now favoring for people who lack any skill on playing the game. They allow people to play off ball because the computer plays incredible defense. If a defender has 85+ steal forget about doing a simple left to right dribble because it will get stolen. Drive into the paint? No because the computer will not let you get by. The shot timing this year is horrible. They say it’s supposed to benefit skilled players but the timing is beyond trash this year.

But anyway, yes I agree BUT 2K can easily fix this if this is bought to their attention. That should be a simple fix. They never should have put TIERS anyway. Just match make regardless of rank because anybody can lose no matter how much they're experienced. It always depends upon the opponent. But yeah, they can fix this.
