Truthfully, I think giving people back their right to vote once they have served their time is a great policy. Our justice system results in the disenfranchisement of millions of potential voters every year, and often these people are entering into the system before they have even had the opportunity to vote in a major election. Studies have shown that people who are more involved in their community and who feel like they can be heard politically are less likely to repeat the same mistakes. There are a lot of policies I have learned about from Walz that I am realizing I agree with. I just never thought about the need for these policies before.

I'm a "Boomer". I'm also a Veteran who served for 11 years in the United States Air Force. I am as Independent as they come. I'm a Centrist through and through. And... I am encouraged that more and more "Gen Z" folks are getting engaged. More people need to be involved in civics. Sadly, there are many people who just don't care. Maybe more Gen Z participation will begin to embarrass those Gen Xers and Millennials to also become more active.
