Neuralink can also control behavior and control your movement and decision making completely. By placing this device on the Occipital lobe which is responsible for vision, could be beneficial for those that have no vision, but it can also impact each individual drastically because after all is a whole computer device planted in your cortex which can be easily hacked and controlled.

Dear @@fungishroom9241, I would like to make a comparison for showing the dangers of this technology. One century ago, Albert Einstein, once discovering the potential of nuclear energy, was very concerned that humans could use it for evil and tried to convince others to stop further advancement in this scientific area. Not many years later, the first nuclear bomb killed hundred thousands of people and showed the miserable effects of this "discovery". Of course this example is not 1:1 transferable to this topic. On the other hand I would like to ask a question: Is it really worth it, to invent something, what can help millions of people, but destroy billions? In such a case, it would be better to never be invented or discovered, because even if it does has some use, its danger and potential for total destruction is far worse and should be kept undiscovered. Right now we do not have to debate about cyberhuman ethics and the effect of money investment (Brain-Computer-Interface) on human intelligence and development of children. If the government would stop any advancement in this area, we could be spared from great ethical miseries, which will unavoidable result out of this. If we don't, when it will be a similar development like with the nuclear bomb. We will have to live with it, regulate it, and always be in concern and hope that nobody wants and can use it for destruction. In the case of the nuclear bomb it almost caused a nuclear war, and this although there were few people who had access to make use of this technology. In the case of a brain-computer-interface technology it is even far more dangerous. In this world live and work millions of hackers, who will make use of this technology, for different targets. And once they can hack the human brain interface, the destructive effect of all this technology can rise towards a level, now even not imaginable and destroy the mental health of millions of people and cause even societies to disarrange. So: Let us stop it, before the Box of Pandora is getting unleashed and many people will have to live with the misery, which humans will cause through this technology.

You get something like this put into your body, you're a slave to the corporation that owns it for the rest of your life (or until it's removed). There have already been cases of companies selling eyesight-augmenting implants that then went bankrupt and stopped being able to support the devices, which had to then be removed for safety, re-blinding their recipients and leaving them with potential lingering health risks. Who would hold these giant corporations accountable for not only things like this, but of the many potential abuses they could commit through these devices?

This video did a poor job of explaining how NeuroLink actually works. I have seen this misleading idea swimming in comment sections all over the place. No, Elon can't "beam ads" directly into your brain. At the moment, all NeuroLink does is interpret some action potentials being fired in the motor cortex, (Part of the section responsible for movement of the limbs, in the case its the hand/arm). Basically he can read very tiny amounts of electrical input, (any child with a voltage meter can do that). The only thing innovative is how Neurolink reads and interprets, and uses that data. That is to say, there is no "uploading" or "beaming" of electrical impulses into the brain. Yes, NeuroLink has experimented with giving patients the ability to sense objects in-front of them, but it is very different from the described "image" that is seen in the video. It's more like a 6th sense, especially for patients who have been blind sense birth, because they have no conceptions of what "seeing" is. They are aware that an object is in-front of them, and are possible able to identify it, but it is no where near anything like having an "image displayed in your consciousness". So no, logically, there will be no commercials beamed into your brain. This product is largely aimed to help people with disabilities be able to communicate with others, where they previously were unable to. I hope you can appreciate how much language and communication as a whole is incredibly important and personal to each individual. We are social creates, we need to be able to talk with one another. Someone who is paralyzed from the neck down, will never be able to feel a hot cup of coffee in their hands again. While they cant physically feel, they still can mentally, and so should at least be able to talk with their families and loved ones. (Even if just through some text on a screen).

That may be accurate, but you're acting like this isn't going to have the most massive uphill battle in history when it comes to becoming a consumer device, if it even happens at all. Neuralink is hardly anywhere with human test subjects, and even those cases are strictly medical only. I've seen reporters question these devices in the consumer space, and they were immediately shut down with the "these are for medical use only" directly from Elons people. So i have a strong feeling if consumers really start buzzing about it, the government will step in and cancel medical testing altogether.

Jesus answered and said unto him "Verily verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" -- John 3:3 "I tell you, Nay; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" -- Luke 13:5 To repent means to change your mind, to think differently To be born again you need to see and admit you are a sinner (Romans 3:23 ) and change your mind, think differently about your sin. Believing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God died on a cross paying your sin debt for you, place your trust in Jesus as your personal savior, he will forgive and save you (Romans 10:13 ). Those who have been born again begin seeing sin as God does, even though you may struggle against the flesh and the sinful nature, you will have a desire to turn from those sins to walk upright with God - (James 4:7-10) God Bless you all ❤️❤️

Why not increase humans biologically. Why not try to unlock and shut some unwanted genes off. Why are we going in the robot-cyborg direction, of all timelines. The one with the most government control. But easily hackable through destructive players. It’s over for humanity. We must go the advancements through gene editing and using our supercomputer to develop better genes. To fight off disease and cancer. Give people regenerative abilities to heal. Longer lifespans through genes. Stronger muscle fiber for increase all around strength. Make our cells more resistant to radiation for sustained space travel. That is actual science this stuff, are tools made for control and to hack the human body through tools. But this may jumpstart us to improve are actual genes. If telepathy can be made through electrical waves we might can already do that through a genetic device rather than mechanical. Things that cannot be hacked or cannot be taken off or out of the body will never work with the masses. It gives too much power to the few.

His jabs at the Project Orion glasses were absurd. They aren't going to be an established product for another 5 years. 5 years in tech evolution is a long time. Meta already has plans to further reduce the size, increase comfort, and increase the capabilities. This would make for an awesome consumer device Meanwhile, Neuralink is currently a medical device only that would absolutely be stuck in limbo indefinitely on the attempts to become a consumer device. Yes, it's very futuristic and interesting to marvel at its potential prospects, but ultimately, it's not going to be a product until maybe the 2070s, if at all.

While being connected to devices may sound scary to you, as long as your conscious is intact you will be okay In rationalizing what you experience with the internet and the ability to understand nature, pain, and the human experience, it takes time as we age from our tainted childhood but we all get to a point of concensus.

I'm just saying this is dangerous not only for the watcher to watch this and have it be promoted as superpowers, its crazy that for people were getting closer to tech, also remember this permanently damages your brain, as well as the potential of hackers viruses, bloatware, malware, software updates, security, . We already saw where this goes look at the industry look how companies "care" for there supporters in todays age its just going to evolve to cyberpunk:2077 and that might be cool from face value but that's scary if you've watched you know what I'm talking about and the way it ends. also the fact it wont be if hackers are able to hack you its when, just being able to seamlessly connect to any tech over Wi-Fi has its "backdoors" and when hackers find them they will exploit them like no tomorrow , as well as a the viruses you could get from them and other malware, not to mention how far the teams making these will have to be ahead of the hacking, ad space, and malware comminutes. do you realize the nightmare of waking up in the middle of the night to get ads in your dreams? I'm just saying they better perfect the tech and make it for the people, it will be a scary world if this commonly gets adopted. and what if you need a software update "oh sorry honey cant go camping with the kids need an update!" like honestly i can see so many flaws with the way they do things but I'm not saying i can do a better job, I'm saying they better figure these things out as well as any major concerns oh yea like permanently damaging your brain that your only born with one of oh yea. Just saying would not invest until i have to either medically or simple because they resolved the issues.

@DorelyAnnHerreraJesusIsLove so if it was from birth? Where they did not commit any sins because they are still a fetus or a newborn, why would god curse to be blind, if they truly deserve it?

Except for the fact that they're literally screwed and sealed into your skull. This is a medical device installed by a machine created by doctors and scientists.. not the bubblegum you tried to use to fix your flat tire.

I have to wear glasses or contacts, but I am not getting something put in my head. No thank you. You can use the link to connect to a computer device. Oh, well what if the link can be used for control too? Also, I don't want anything with a chip in my body. It just makes think of the mark of the beast.

The main issue behind BCI implants, and why they only work temporarily, is scar tissue development. Your brain and body will start to grow scar tissue around the electrodes and weaken, deaden, or prevent the signal transmitting from your brain to the device. Meaning you'll probably need the implant removed and relocated at some point, or additional "maintenance" surgeries to remove the scar tissue.

just have it hollow pipes then wire or needele in them goes a tiny bit further over time

@orangestoneface that would work to bypass scar tissue. Main issue is the need to target very specific areas of brain, sometimes down to the millimeter. Advancing the wire would overshoot your targeted cluster of neurons or area.

or...two needles very cose to each other the tip ..or double needle that can sense current between them inthe cells that lie betwee3n them ,from cells thought the scar tissue around each needle . hm , no no need for two then ...unless one needle sends current other receives but thats hardly working . ok. no. then ...magnetic sensoring needle that can reach out beyond the scar. whatev that could be . sending out magnetic waves from needle point ...hm can that ...eee ...maybe not . some mri sensor near brain but then this only works inside mri machine or well would be a start though. .

We're already cyborgs, most people cannot function anymore without their phone. It's just in our pocket instead of wired directly to us. It's sad, really.

You cant lie this is way worse than a phone. Like imagine having your phone 24/7. Day and night. Always on. Im fine with phones, VR, and goofy looking glasses. But something attached to your brain? Nah Im good. Messing with your brain should never be a thing.

You're absolutely right. Every time i get on a bus or train or whatever - i look around and feel like i am in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. It just hasn't reached the "Walking Dead" stage yet. Even the peeps you wouldn't expect to - are hooked to these things. At such moments there is nothing better than taking out an old-school mp3 player and drowning this dystopian circus in a storm of some proper old-school heavy metal.
