How NewJeans Changed Kpop Forever
NewJeans, being New Genes, is something I have never seen in Kpop.
Been listening to Kpop for fifteen years, witnessing the rise and fall of greatest gen 2 groups, the power transition going to BTS and BLACKPINK, then the advent of gen 4 idols, I thought I have seen it all.
Enter NewJeans.
NewJeans then comes, being the epitome of iconoclasm. Now, Iconoclasm isn’t a new concept. We've seen it splashed across the big screens and Netflix series, but Kpop? Not so much. Intrigued by their rapid successes, I have spent a week going through all Min Hee-jin interviews, marketing analysis and everything in between about NewJeans.
And here I am, eager to share how NewJeans is rewriting the Kpop narrative.
