The art of attack in chess is something that you develop with time, training, and by developing a keen sense for tactical features of a position. The position I had in this game was almost a perfect example of having the initiative and just enough force to launch a strong attack. I managed to mess it up. Learn from my mistakes.

I am so sorry I love these longer format training videos. I just put it on and go about my day and learn something about chess. Thank you so much! I've improved to an 1600 quite quickly and I feel my endgame skills are a lot better because of you. Thanks!

Thanks again for posting your games. Win, lose or draw, they're always educational and entertaining for us! Happy New Year again. Hopefully you've already reached your year's quota of blunders and it'll be smooth sailing from here on out. FWIW, it does seem your tactics have improved since you've been working on them. You're thinking more moves ahead, and you're doing it quicker and mostly with more accuracy.

Your light square bishop never saw the light of day. I felt like you never got the opening right. He managed to use a setup with a Nc3 that was very flexible for him. You wasted too much time fiddling around with your dark square bishop too. Thank you for sharing this. I felt your pain throughout.

28:00 I think you really just need to bail out by going into a endgame. Rxe2, Qxe2, bxd5, bxd5 (or xb5) qe5 and now he probably has to trade so you don't get active

In the stonewall, you always play on your king side. You went awry when you began playing on the queenside. cheers

1. Happy new year :) 2. Sometimes actually even with very active pieces there is nothing in concrete so an endgame sometimes is a better choice
