Nice Grizzly! You should be in "low" in situations like that, especially when there is resistance like mud, incline, or towing. High range will destroy the belt quickly otherwise.

give me anxiety watching him hammer on it in high and the tires not spinning. Prayers to that clutch and belt.

Good to see your enjoying your machine to the fullest. Most people keep it in the garage and pretend to test it.

You gotta build up to that. I destroyed an engine because I was 19 and thought I knew better than the manufacturer, so I raced a truck when I got 2 blocks away from the dealership with my BRAND new bike. By 1,200 miles the top end sounded like it was coming apart. I generally try to avoid buying anything with less than 5000 miles on it now because I don't like to do the brake-in period, and don't wanna get something that some retard like that guy trades in after 500 miles that is ruined already but that the symptoms haven't shown up yet. In the couple times recently that I've HAD to buy brand new, I follow the brake-in instructions to a tee! (Another 20 miles to go on the 2024 Grizzly XTR I just bought 2 weeks ago)

If u got it brand new, I Hope you read the brake in instructions or at least listened to the sales person when they said how to brake it in. If you romp on it right away like this moron did, it won't last more than a couple thousand miles at best.
@stephengregg9222 Жыл бұрын
The gas tank is vented to the back axle so it probably sucked up some water and thats why it shut off just check where things are vented before you do that lol
@chrisbeasley8342 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s the steam from water getting pulled into intake

U better check the air box filter cause u now have water in it.. yeah ur lucky u didn't destroy the engine there cause u definitely got water in the motor.. idk how it suppose to sound but for some reason it dont sound right to me.. the exhaust sounded different there when u pulled it out of the water but idk

Reminds me when I bought a brand new 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland went straight to my buddies house and backed it into his swamp flooding the whole interior.
@Reefaman1 Жыл бұрын
Your bike stalled cause steam was sucked into the air intake and choked the engine out, id suggest snorkels if you want to play in water (not deep) and your gas tank vent hose is down by your rear diff i suggest relocating that higher so it doesnt suck up water into your gas tank.
@user-sp3gq1up9n Жыл бұрын
Lol. When you buy that new quad and your buddy influenced you into doing something you shouldn't have haha. The only ones laughing at you are the ones from the sideline while their looking at 13k floading in water. But it brings great memories and tears.

Front left tire not even turning, lock the front diff.
@SuperDave-pe1zw Жыл бұрын
Mud like put her in low and she'll really go ! Diff lock should have been able to get you out either in reverse or forward. You gas tank very runs down the back tube almost to differential. In water it will suck water up into the tube and can kill motor. Either reroute it up by front or at least under the seat. Enjoy your grizzly they're a awesome machine....

its a grizzly. it will be fine. Yamaha has constant tension on the belt with their CVT system, which makes it more reliable and less likely to burn a belt. other brands will allow the CVT to slip because they don't have the separate clutch system which is why they go through belts more often.
@robertdenton6936 Жыл бұрын
Next time in that situation, turn the quad off and leave ot neutral. Just a little advice
@Mr...N0body2 жыл бұрын
Ok, you had to smoke your belt there. It looked like you were in high. If you were the belt has some issues now lol

Nah they can handle it mine has been beat on way worse then this for the last 6 years since new never ever broke. I have got water in it a few times but then I just pull the plug drain it and it’s good to go.
