I'm watching from Brighton, East Sussex. Unfortunately living in a house but I grew up on boats. I'm 30, the first 12 years were on board our main 85ft Dutch barge, we had a 57ft narrow boat, a 30 something foot yogurt pot (GRP if I remember correctly) and a 14ft just to go across the river and back, or for the shopping trips, saves the walking up & down the footpaths 😂 The name is unique and I'll be honest, I think it's something to do with budding flowers, I haven't a clue, I like it though, I agree arti for short sounds good too. 3 videos consecutively down, I think it was two more to go 🤔😂

If you ever get a windfall of wishes a 12 volt heated Motorcycling waist coat for under your weather proof clothing is my idea for winter cruising using the engine generated electric.

A heated waistcoat?! I had no idea such a thing existed! That sounds absolutely game-changing

Have just come across your videos. Have to say they are great. I’m probably the same as both your ages put together plus some and really wish I had been as adventurous in my younger days, although there’s time yet. Roll on retirement. You seem a wonderfully happy and well suited couple, such a pleasure to see. Keep smiling and keep those videos coming, I’m now a regular viewer. Take care Helen 😀 (& Barney 🐕🦺).

Just started following your journey, the build is going great and well thought out it seems, and by the way I also use a hot water bottle to warm up with but mostly on my back so yes it's a good idea young lady but over your under garments so you don't burn. as for the water proof onesie, I had a motor cycle wet suit that worked well that was until it got warmer and sweat inside lol.

Hi guys I love the videos so far, love the T&G cladding. I couldn't help but notice that you have fixed your cladding with a single screw to the middle of the board. Not a good idea I'm sad to say after all your work. It will lead to cupping of the boards when the timber dries. I would suggest a double fixing or even move the fixing over closer to the tongue of the board this way you can hold down the tongue and the groove of the adjacent board with one fixing. Of course if you don't mind a cupped board look then it's ok. But otherwise I love the vids and keep up the good work. Keith

Ah! I didn't think of this at all... Thank you for the tip, looks like I've got another trip to Screwfix to do after Christmas then!

I don't like the name but it is your boat. Getting second hand stuff is great provided it is what will work well. The stove has to be the right size for the space and as efficient as possible.

Fair! It's also going to be our oven for cooking in the winter so pretty happy with it 🙌

Hey Brenda! We're both freelancers so work depends on what contracts we manage to secure... Living on the boat makes it easier to manage our finances during quieter months 🙂

Hi love the seriers Iam fitting out my own boat, great to see how you did the roof...One question I have is where is your mooring and is it a permanent mooring and do you know how to get one ;-) We could be neighbours

Hi. Are you going to be propelled electrically? Do you think you will be able to do this purely from solar harvest? Very interested to hear your thoughts on this 🙂
@thistinylife Жыл бұрын
Heya Tim! Yes so we will have quite a large lithium battery set up and the motor we're using is very efficient. We won't really be able to move during the darker months, but we have a mooring for that. Summer will hopefully allow us a good few hours of cruising at a time. We will be able to charge when cruising on bright days too!
@deanery4x Жыл бұрын
@@thistinylife I've been wondering about this for a while, whether it is realistic or not. So I am very excited to see you trying and look forward to seeing your solar installation, batteries etc. (I have tried this before on a 35 ft/5 ton sailboat...even in the Med, harvesting the sunshine wasn't straightforward).
