You would probably need to wait to June to find chanterelles in any reasonable amounts.

That was not a finger mushroom, it was a "Gullhorn" {Golden Antlers} - won't kill you, but not worth picking either. And the orange fake chantarelle is called just that. Looked like a lovely dat!
