Lol awesome video man. but next time get a spray bottle put in dawn dish soap to cover the bottom then add water slowly to fill it up....waaaayyy cheaper than that chemical crap. you can also put in a couple drops of peppermint extract and it'll actually prevent future wasp from coming back cuz they hate the smell. sorry to be "that comment" but thought it might help. rock on!

Few tips if you want to use the air can to kill wasps. As you could probably figure out, have at least two fingers pinching the pipe so it doesn't fly out like that. Second, start your spray low. Aim below your intended target, pull the trigger, then readjust the spray up. This is because there is an air front that might push the bugs away before the refrigerant hits them. The tricky part is to determine how much to pull the trigger and what distance. It doesn't have much of a range but closer usually means faster freeze but less area. It doesn't have to be on full blast to freeze either and may even end up blowing the bugs away due to the pressure. Last tip is to restrict the targets to small prey. Small wasp nests like those or maybe fast bugs you can't seem to catch are good. Don't go for medium or big nests as the spray will not affect the entire thing in time. The only exception is the enclosed wasp nests and only if everyone is inside; then spray the entrance (don't stick the pole in and spray into it as the guys near the front will be least affected and fly out). Happy hunting.

I know a bug guy who used to remove these pests from houses at night. You get a stick and a flashlight; you make sure you are not standing under the nest, and you just knock it down. It does help if you have a bright porch light or bug zapper nearby (but not too close), as the wasps will be drawn away from you. Ants will usually destroy the nest if you leave it on the ground. If you do this once a month, you will be wasp-free for the most part. They will return, but they are insects, so this is a given.

I've found that "identifying" the nests in the daytime and then going out after dark with the Wasp 15' spray works extremely well... they are all "at home" so you get ALL of them and they don't come flying after you as in the daytime. For what it's worth!

Not sure what the problem is. I have wasp nests all over the place with absolutely no worries. They get used to you if you don't act the fool. I have sat next to a wasp nest for many hours at a time reading books. Not once was I accosted.
@pH7oslo8 жыл бұрын
I don't have a problem sharing my garden with bees and wasps either - you leave them alone, they leave you alone. Only problem is if they land on your food while you're eating it (they seem to love jam on buttered toast) and you fail to notice. If I want to get rid of a nest, I prefer convincing them to move rather than killing them. They build their nests where they keep dry, so all you have to do is use the garden hose and "let it rain". After you've done that a few times they find somewhere drier to build their nests.
@JACKnJESUS8 жыл бұрын
That's a good way. I had a bee colony move into one of my shed walls. My neighbor asked what was I going to do? Ummmm...absolutely nothing. I just let them bee.

These bee/wasp videos are always entertaining to watch. If you are seriously just wanting to get rid of a wasp nest step one is to locate the wasp nest or nests during the daylight hours and then leave them alone till later. Next wait till 11:00P, go out armed with a flashlight/head lamp and wasp spray to known wasp locations and spray them. By doing it this way, you get them all because they are all home. Done deal. Go back inside watch a movie, go to bed, and sweep them up in the morning. Life is good.

If you want to freeze them go to the auto parts store and buy a can of brake cleen. works great on wasps and bees. It comes out as a fluid and soaks then but it is also designed for rapid evaporation which happens so fast the draws the heat from their body and they drop like a rock. I and most guys I know keep a can handy around the shop specifically for wasps.

Those look like invasive European paper wasps. They arrived about 25 years ago and have spread all over the eastern US. They started nesting everywhere around my house several years ago. Last year, not so many. This year none at all. They almost displaced the common brown Northern wasp. I seldom find them now. Hoping something native started controlling them. I live in Connecticut, so maybe it's different where you are. Enjoyed your video!

Dawn dish washing soap and water in a pump up sprayer. It will not hurt your paint or anything on the house. The soap suds smuthers the wasp to death and it happen real quick. It's cheaper than hornet and wasp spray.
@sorensenscott8 жыл бұрын
get some spray adhesive from your local hardware store, just what ever is cheap/clear. All you need to do is spray a small amount on the nest. The ones that are there that get sprayed will have their wings stuck together and can't fly. The ones that return then get stuck to the nest. I have used this for years and you do not even need to run away or even worry about getting stung once they can't fly.

I don't know if it would work or not but somebody was saying that if you crush up a big paper grocery bag in the shape of a hornet's nest and place in a visible corner of your home, it would deter wasps from nesting anywhere near it because it looks to them like a predator's nest so they avoid it like the plague. I don't know the effectiveness of this but if it does work, it would be a very cheap alternative to wasp sprays and exterminators.

I think just freezing them will not kill them. After freezing you will have to make a secondary kill to the frozen wasp. I would suggest a Co2 extinguisher, more bang for the buck. The best way I found to get rid of wasps safely is to use a vacuum cleaner with an impeller suction blade.I have a Kirby brand. With a long extension on the hose all you have to do is to turn it on and get it close to the hive. The wasps will automatically try to defend the hive and get sucked in and pulverized by the impeller blade. works every time and safe.
