Mediterranean Fan Palms or Chamaerops Humilis are multi trunked Palms and can get bushy. If you decide to trim them do it properly.

What on Earth?! Who wouldn't the petioles all the way back to the trunk? I have a C.Humilis in my garden in Southern England (USDA 9a) and it's doing incredibly well - it's formed several new trunks this year which are just starting to develop. Flowered nicely but didn't have any plants of the opposite sex nearby (though I've heard a palm weevil is their main pollinator, which we don't have here - maybe the bees will do it?) Getting some C.H. Cerifera soon and potentially Vulcano.

Great video I’m looking for advice on whether or not I should trim off any trunks, so the palm went get too big for its space. Newly planted 6.5 gallon in Coastal MS. I’m new at this from CO, so it’s not like an Aspen😅 If I could show you a pic or two I’d be super appreciative of any advice. Thanks, in advance! Bryan

If you like you can trim off offshoots and even just have a solitary palm, it will eventually send out new offshoots anyways as it’s a suckering palm. 👍

Can you remove the baby ones from the trunk and repot them successfully? We have had them for years and noticed that ours is not growing multiples and we would really like to remove/repot to keep just the main trunk. Can you offer any advice? Struggling to find anything online! Many thanks.

Not really. I have heard a few have done this successfully but I have yet to see the proof.

Hello! My aunt and uncle recently purchased a home that has one of these palms planted in a box like yours up against their pool. However, the walkway between the pool and the palm is becoming blocked at this point. What can they do about the fans that are blocking the walkway? They don't want to trim it in a way that might damage it, but they really don't know what they're doing.

they can trim the fronds that are in the way at the base of the petiole(near the trunk), it won['t hurt the palm.
