The platform for founders to scale their startup ► slidebean.com?K

This videos works on so many levels.. Not only does it inform an audience of those who are simply curious on how start ups spend their funding but I’ve discovered in total, 4 different customer segments. 1. The lay audience such as myself who’s just curious on how startups works. 2. The upcoming entrepreneurs who are looking for guidance on how to get a start up running (likely to subscribe to your account and potentially buy in on the slide bean features down the line). 3. Actual start ups who are creating pitch decks (which you’ve roped in through your analysis of how other start ups fail) and need something like slide bean. 4. Potential investors giving them full transparency on your financials + your other activities within the startup to promote the business aka it’s an educational video + pitch to your product at the same time. it’s genius

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots, in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate. this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days. menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app

If you are a white guy, don't hold your breath. We just went through a funding discussion with a local investor that wanted 45% for slightly more than we as founders had put in ourselves over the last 30 months. If you are 51% black-owned then you might get a better deal but in our case, it wasn't worth bringing in a partner that wouldn't be able to positively contribute to the business. Either way, you'll be better off (and receive more investor love) by registering your company outside South Africa.

@@AuthGate so your assumption or reason for not getting a black partner is that if you do, they wouldn't positively contribute?
@AuthGate4 жыл бұрын
@@5995Jiol My one business partner is actually a black guy with a 10% shareholding, so no, the issue is not about race. It is about racist laws that excludes minority white guys like me from actively participating in the economy unless I hand over a large chunk of my business to a fat cat with government connections.
@BobbyGeneric1453 жыл бұрын
@@AuthGate don't let him bait you... Apartheid was condemned around the world, but now that the natives are doing the exact same thing while destroying the country at the same time, nobody thinks it is wrong. I have a few coworkers from S Africa who had to abandon family businesses, bank accounts, property, because it was being seized by natives and given to their cronies.

So I purchased an annual license last week as I was pitching for a bit of business and my old PPT looked dated!! I want to say we won the pitch!! obviously not down solely to the Slidebean deck (it did help in some areas we missed and looked a lot better) but for some reason Jose started to appear on my KZbin feed. I would have scrolled passed, but I had just purchased Slidebeam so I thought I'd watch it. I love Jose's honesty and insightfulness, being a business owner I find his video's really useful. I may have become an evangelist Thanks Slidebeam & Jose.

@DerDudelino4 жыл бұрын
I can second a lot of that: A lot of startups invest huge amounts of resources (time and money) to attend conferences and raise at a very early stage instead of getting more traction. We had this issue with the last company I was involved, where the CEO was 90 percent of the time not in the office and not working on the product, but just in fundraising mode which cost us at least 8 months.

I actually wanted to ask what you think of consulting / building products for other companies to get cash in to build a product. we're building a product as well, we have 3 devs dedicated to the client work (most days of the week) and 1 on moving our tools features forward. I'm happy to see that it's a known thing to do. I thought i was wasting time, but we've been cashflow positive every month given my content is about building large client applications. This has helped me get enough contracts to sustain the entire team and work on the products. Awesome video! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Caya, would love to have a video dedicated to this KZbin channel- how much revenue does it bring in relative to what you make from slidebean? How much does it cost to run, operate and maintain? How long did it take to make a profit off running a KZbin channel? Etc. Thought it'd be super interesting!! Especially with the rise of entrepreneurial KZbinrs who make the bulk of their monthly income through KZbin ad revenue alone. (Eg, like Graham Stephen) Thanks for all that you do!

Hi Jose. I share the same sentiment that for a B2B and SaaS business, it has to start generating income as soon as possible after the beta is launched. However, whether it breakeven, net profit or burning through funds raised, depends on the market and business model is another thing. By having people or companies willing to pay for the service, is a proof that the model is probably working. However, this can be a double edge sword. It may hindered taking risk to pivot to a much faster and longer growth but it may save the company from having sufficient cash flow to reach profitability. How do you find the balance? It depend on a lot of things but what are the key questions one should ask? When is exactly a good time to start looking for funding?
