I really felt when you said your talent cripples you... I really look up to you since we’re so similar. I’m only 16 turning 17 soon but I’m just like you I can sing, write, do poetry, dance, art, I’m even good in school and can write really well. So it made me feel like I didn’t have to try at all so I would act lazy with everything because it’s like well I know I can do it so why do I have to work hard 🤷🏽‍♀️ but recently in my junior year ( I’m in it right now ) I’ve been realizing that I’m not satisfied with that and I really wanna improve on my work ethic as well. People think being good at everything just makes everything easy but everything good that is given to you has to be worked for. So what good is it if I’m talented but can’t take it anywhere since I don’t know how to work? I really am excited to see your success and improvements in your attitude towards everything and just know that you’ve been inspiring me to do the same and I appreciate you being such a good example. When I make it I’m gonna make sure to recognize you as someone who influenced me. Love you💕

What you said about talent being crippling I never really thought about that but I have a lot of goals but my problem is once I’m home I’m HOME so I struggle soo hard with my drive. Once I start I can get going but it’s extremely, EXTREMELY hard for me to get up out the bed and go.

I usually don’t comment on any KZbin video ever, but I’ve been watching you faithfully since at least 2013. As a recent grad with a degree in Music-vocal performance emphasis in classical voice. I just wanted to say I appreciate the approach you are taking. I’m not going to lie I was put off when you first mentioned getting into music, but seeing the way you are approaching it has really changed my mind. It bothers me the way anyone on social media thinks they can just be an artist and can’t even sing/play a scale, read music or understand chord progressions, counter point, blues scales, even basic music theory for that matter. So thank you for showing the hard work you plan on putting in because it’s not easy by any means. Coming from someone who’s life literally revolves around music lol. Hopefully you actually see my comment, love your content.

I’m definitely a big learner! If I want to do something new I’m researching and reading ALL the things! Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places to be ever. Whenever I meet someone I’d be down for a first date at Barnes and Noble and Starbucks 😂👌🏾 My downfall is implementation, mainly because my anxiety/doubt would get in the way. It’s so weird: it’s like the better I get/more I accomplish the more that I go into self criticism and doubt/imposter syndrome kicks in! I’m growing out of that now. Once I learn how to do something I’m 9/10 taking action immediately! Being productive helps mental health anyway, but I also have to avoid shaming myself whenever I’m just relaxing and not working on something.

It literally has me sitting and doing nothing, being straight up LAZY, because I'm not where I wanna be which is obviously counter-productive. The thumbnail alone got me!! I recently retook my GRE and i has about a week to study due to deadlines and during the rest I was sooo stressed but I ended up doing well and my score improved from the first time I took it! I spent that week studying hard and saying a lot of affirmations 🙌🏾
