Class video. I do think we are exciting to watch though.

Both Danilo and Sangare are on the verge of returning and once fit should provide useful back up in midfield. If both return to the level they've shown previously they could be useful in helping the club see out the season on a high note. The depth at Forest is better than most folks think it is.

Yeah, absolutely spot on. It’s something I realised I’d completely overlooked after the video was completed. So totally right to point out.

Sangare is so useless and so bad, never rated him

@rahool2897personally that’s unfair, especially regarding Sangare. Yes he’s not show us a lot but what he has played you can tell he has a lot of quality. I think at the start of the season when he was getting regular minutes he showed his ability very well, and I would say that i personally could see that he was at a very high level probably even high enough for a “top team” he will definitely have to fight for his spot back in the team but when he is rolling I think him and Anderson behind MGW would be unplayable, and that’s without Danilo who is also an amazing player. I think as Forest fans we will see some strong battles for a starting spot between our deep midfielders, Yates, Dominguez, Anderson, Sangare and Danilo.

@rahool2897 When fully coached in the system(s) Nuno wants to play and in a team that's performing well is there any reason he shouldn't show the same level of improvement as Ryan Yates has? Ryan isn't the quickest of players and at one time wasn't thought of as regular first choice in the Prem. Nuno has now found how to use him best and he's an important member of the squad. At one time of day Sangare was being looked at by many of the top teams so must have the potential at least. If it doesn't work out Nuno will soon realise that, but I wouldn't say Sangare is useless.

it is great to see variety in the top 4. I was tired of seeing the same big clubs. Nottingham Forest are definitely underdogs like Leicester city once was

This was really well made, have watched a lot of stuff where the same stats get brought up all the time, so this was cool to see a different perspective on first half goals conceded etc. Nice work mate - subbed!

Stefan, as a Forest fan this was a very well made and honest/neutral video and as it’s your first video I have seen you have definitely gained a subscriber in me. The only thing I will say is while you are correct in saying our midfield has helped our defence massively, that actually at the start of the season we were actually playing with Danilo (who suffered an horrendous injury just a few games in) and Sangare (Who hasn’t been given a lot of his time but has also showed his quality and price tag when given a chance) So our current midfield defensively of Yates, Dominguez and Anderson wasn’t actually the first choice but they all have very much shown that they are able to come in and match the standard of the others but also push eachother with the fact that they are all doing so well and are all genuinely fighting to keep a starting place or show why they deserve one. Which is why personally when Danilo and Sangare are back fit they will have to also fight their way back into the squad retrospectively. The only position I think we need to look at is a forward as a back up/protege to Chris wood, Awonyi has been good but he is too injury prone recently. Our recent form has finally shown the world a reminder to the prem “big 6” and others around the world that regardless of recent years that older clubs like ourselves will always find a way back to the top. Even this year and the current season despite our consistent results we are still not given due credit from others (imo as a Forest fan) we are 3rd after half a season, the only team in this league (and Arne Slot’s calendar year) that have beaten Liverpool under his tenure (Which is world class as much as I hate to say it) Ourselves and all the older clubs are finally coming back around and I personally love it. Regardless of what happens for the rest of the season I could not be prouder of our Forest team, everyone in this squad from Manager to a bench player will always be remembered as the squad that challenged the normal for us.

Yeah, spot on Harry. It'll be really interesting to see what happens in midfield once the two return from injury and I couldn't agree more. It's great seeing Forest back in the top-flight and doing well. I'm too young to remember their glory years, but always had a huge amount of respect for the club after what they achieved.

Brother this is an outstanding video obviously there are a lot of videos about us right now trying to show he we do what we are doing. This is by far and away THE best one I have seen showing how we do what we do and the stats you use I have never seen anywhere else. Excellent video sir

As a forest fan, very very good analysis here. The only thing you've missed was our starting midfield injuries (I believe Sangare and Danilo both started games until they were out if memory serves), but you've already owned up to that in the comments so fair enough. As crazy as it still is to me, we are where we are entirely on merit and while the system is nothing like any of the teams around us, it's a system that's been the cornerstone of our playstyle long before we even got promoted to the premier league in the first place. If you go back 5 or 6 years to the season under Sabri Lamouchi (until sabri I was never happy), we played a very similar style - let teams have the ball, let them have potshots, and hit teams on the counter with devastating effectiveness. Trundling back through, we had the 2nd/3rd defensive record up until lockdown, and there was a really hilarious stat knocking around that we either didn't win a single game (or may have won 1) when we had more than 50% of the ball. Ultimately, a key midfield injury to Samba Sow, lockdown killing the momentum we had going and a late season collapse so apocalyptic it would still be talked about now if it was in the premier league kind of ruined these stats come season end. Matchday 31 vs Bielsa's leeds was by far and away the best example of this and the best I can remember from any pre-cooper forest side in my lifetime (just turning 25 now). Obviously the person ell bar Yates has all changed, but this has been the forest way for quite some time and it suits Nuno and his tactical nuance down to the ground.

Really great point Alistair. Definitely feels like Nuno has arrived at a club that can actually appreciate his style of play because it chimes with what they're used to. As opposed to a club like Spurs that wanted him to completely change his entire style to suit what their fans demanded.

Totally disagree with anyone stating it may not be exciting to watch. Breaking at pace and going for the kill, is very exciting. Tippy Tappy football is boring as hell.
