Mate - you missed Yatesy out. His presence is crucial on and off the pitch. He sets the standards in training and leads by example. He also niggles and stifles the opposition creative players. Against Liverpool he dominated MacAlister, winding him up and upsetting him till he was subbed early in the 2nd half. TAA moves into midfield and Yates takes him down with a crunching tackle. Yatesy is a legend.

Great analysis, Jacob. As a Forest fan (for more years than I care to remember!!), the Milenkovic/Murillo partnership is probably the best I have seen in my club, and I am including the Larry Lloyd/Kenny Burns partnership in the European Cup glory days. I wouldn't say they are the best centreback pairing in the Premier league, but they are certainly in the top one (to misquote the legendary Brian Clough)!!!! They compliment each other perfectly, what Milenkovic can't do, Murillo can, and vice versa. They really are the perfect pairing in defence, especially when assisted by Aina and Moreno/Williams each side of them. These are exciting times on the banks of the Trent.

Very good analysis 👍 Nailed it. The one little point I’d make is that although it seemed crazy when Forest bought twenty or more players the year they got promoted, they had only 7 - SEVEN ! - registered players on the books when they got promoted. ( all the rest were loan signings who returned to their parent clubs) They had to buy an entire squad basically. Obviously some of those players didn’t work out at all but many did and it was enough to keep them in the Premier League for two seasons. So although it seemed like madness, it actually worked…….,,Good video mate. Subscribed.

A pleasantly surprising analysis video. Normally, all we get is people throwing out the number of player transfers without any effort put into the reasons why. I think maybe Nuno's (and the teams) ability to effectively close out games with substitutions and formation changes, while maintaining the attacking threat is also really impressive. Nice job 👍

It’s going over old ground now. But when we got promoted we literally didn’t have a team. All five pivotal loan players went back and we lost our goalie too. It was the second Cooper miracle that kept us up that season. It’s become an accepted media narrative that the media love to tap into. Forest owned by a madman etc. The truth is far more nuanced. Similarly, we are only 9 games into a 38 game season. But it is a great start thus far.

Brilliant, inciteful analysis Jacob. Pretty much nailed the contribution every player is making to this years squad. I particularly liked that you picked out the contribution of Dominguez who doesn't always make the first eleven when the rest of the midfield squad are fit. I think his energy, 'terrier' style tackling ability and all round positional play is underrated by many. Yet who does Nuno leave out when they're all fit to play! A fantastic problem for the club to have right now. The only other player who you didn't mention who this season so far has performed beyond expectation is the goalkeeper Sels. When the opposition finally has figured out how to break the defensive structure they have still found another man defying their best attempts. Will be checking out more of your content 👍
