However, the best moisturizing technique I’ve used in the past was using a leave in conditioner and butter (mango and Shea butter mixture). I think your porosity explains why we can use the same method even though I have finer strands. You convinced me to start using the LB method again (I stopped for a while because my mango and Shea butter mix finished and the leave conditioner I used to use no longer works). I’ll try using the other methods too. Thank you so much!!

The take down was beautiful and my hair felt moisturized. But throughout the rest of the day, my hair became extremely dry. I have always struggled with retaining length and moisture ever since I went natural back in 2016 . Is there anything I can add into this regimen with shea butter for more moisture?. I rinsed my hair with water and used SM jbco leave in conditioner, and the product did not much of anything. I miss my TGIN moisturizer, but I don't want to use it anymore due to the formaldehyde that is in it. I may go out and get my Giovanni leave in. I also bought As I Am smoothie, so I will try that next time. Sometimes I just use plain grease and water when all else fails. These products sit on top of my hair, and cause build up...so I have to rinse it anyway. I used an acv rinse and that SM product did not penetrate my damp hair. What a waste of money...Maybe instead of throwing it out, I will mix the conditioner with water and an oil. Great video and cute hairstyle. I can't flat twist to save my life, lol! I will keep trying.

@@dianabaltazar7818 nope I've tried several different kinds. It's just how my hair is. People don't want to admit that some people (me) have very dry hair that thrives on being moisturised in the morning and evening. In fact I checked this with my trichologists and they said this was completely OK. So until a trichologist tells me otherwise, I will continue with my moisture routine. It explains why for 30 years my hair would always break off. It would split and break because it was DRY! In fact some people who live in desert conditions moisturise their hair every 4 hours throughout the day. I saw girls doing this in the tropics at my high school but I just thought they were re-styling their hair. No. They were reapplying moisture at 3pm that had been lost in the severe heat!

I like in the shower too but I swear I’m allergic to the cold and when winter comes I wash my hair like once all winter. I wanna wash weekly and do the growth challenge like you but I’m scared. Actually maybe I should do mine in summer 🤷🏾♀️

You could do it in the summer! I HATE the cold too. I take HOT showers, can't even lie

If you just washed your hair , then a couple days after it starts to itch a lil even tho your hands get oily from checking your hair and it’s not dry at all , does that just mean it still needs a lil moisture if so ?

I think its related to your scalp. You could use Aloe Very Juice as it is great to scalp health. You could also have product build up too on your scalp

You scalp should only really start itching 6 or 7 days after shampooing. My scalp used to itch a lot every day or two days so I saw a trichologist. They said I had a scalp condition called "contact dermatitis". If this has been going on for longer that 3 months, please see a dermatologist or a trichologist.

Hey love do your edges stay like that and if so how long ?? I haven’t bothered laying my edges in about 4 years 😂😭
@JennJackson4 жыл бұрын
If I tie them down, yes! This is the only edge control that keeps them laid for me.
