I love that you are high porosity. I have high porosity hair too, though my strands are fine. However, the best moisturizing technique I’ve used in the past was using a leave in conditioner and butter (mango and Shea butter mixture). I think your porosity explains why we can use the same method even though I have finer strands. You convinced me to start using the LB method again (I stopped for a while because my mango and Shea butter mix finished and the leave conditioner I used to use no longer works). I’ll try using the other methods too. Thank you so much!!

The take down was beautiful and my hair felt moisturized. But throughout the rest of the day, my hair became extremely dry. I have always struggled with retaining length and moisture ever since I went natural back in 2016 . Is there anything I can add into this regimen with shea butter for more moisture?. (my twist comes out smoother and more defined with shea butter) Or is there anything I can do in the morning i take out my twist?

I rinsed my hair with water and used SM jbco leave in conditioner, and the product did not much of anything. I miss my TGIN moisturizer, but I don't want to use it anymore due to the formaldehyde that is in it. I may go out and get my Giovanni leave in. I also bought As I Am smoothie, so I will try that next time. Sometimes I just use plain grease and water when all else fails. These products sit on top of my hair, and cause build up...so I have to rinse it anyway. I used an acv rinse and that SM product did not penetrate my damp hair. What a waste of money...Maybe instead of throwing it out, I will mix the conditioner with water and an oil. Great video and cute hairstyle. I can't flat twist to save my life, lol! I will keep trying.

Yes girl. Moisture is moisture. I don’t take my twist out to moisture, but rather squeeze the moisturizer in (that’s when I use my spray leave in mix so that I can squeeze the moisture through). I only take my twist out if my hair is REALLY dry and I want to get in there.

@@dianabaltazar7818 nope I've tried several different kinds. It's just how my hair is. People don't want to admit that some people (me) have very dry hair that thrives on being moisturised in the morning and evening. In fact I checked this with my trichologists and they said this was completely OK. So until a trichologist tells me otherwise, I will continue with my moisture routine. It explains why for 30 years my hair would always break off. It would split and break because it was DRY! In fact some people who live in desert conditions moisturise their hair every 4 hours throughout the day. I saw girls doing this in the tropics at my high school but I just thought they were re-styling their hair. No. They were reapplying moisture at 3pm that had been lost in the severe heat!

This is what I'm currently working on too and I'm using the mielle organic avocado milk (moisturizer) and their mint almond oil and their rosemary oil (to seal in moisturizer)..anything with mint stimulates hair growth. Almost massage the oil into your hair for like 5 mins or however long u feel.

Why me KZbin be doing me like this, notification 5hours later😖😖😖😖... Anywho, I really think we are twins😂😂😂😂, I do exactly everything I just watched in this video, wash day, LB method moisturising, next moisturising is just Liquid+leave in+oil, next might just be oil😂😂😂😜or just repeat the 2nd till washday. Skip washday sometimes but keep my hair moisturised...difference is I'm not a shower girl😂 so I do all that in my room or just around the house😂 ❤❤❤❤. I promised I wouldn't make a long comment again but it izzz what it izzz😂

If your hair gets dry that quick between washing, you should try a shower filter. It’s been a game changer for me since I moved to NC. My hair used to feel dry the next day after washing it and I didn’t understand why until I thought about the only difference between where I was and where I am now, and it was the water.
@JennJackson

Typically I do it every 3 days because u don’t let my hair gets extremely dry before moisturizing. Thanks for the tip though.... I’m always down for more moisture 🙌🏽

Besides hard water, I have other things drying out my high porosity hair. Heating, air conditioning, pollution etc. I chelate every 4-6 weeks and my hair is happier for it.

Girllll my hairdresser detangled my hair pretty rough and I'm disturbed if I should let my scalp breathe or still do my wash day in 10days. I lost alot of hair and my scalp had her day too. What do you think?

@@MeritDike OMG.. My nightmare hair dresser/stylist. Yeah give your scalp a rest unless it is flaking or itching. My trichologists recommend shampooing once a week and no brushes! Only wide toothcombs and fingers. I have brushes for thin, fine and fragile hair and I only use them once ever 4 to 6 weeks. My hair stylist can do my whole time in the salon only using his fingers! The only time he uses a brush or comb is when he has to trim and I take him my brushes for fine and fragile hair not the salon brushes!

Sheen doesn't determine if your hair is dry. If it feels dry then it is, and you should check what you're using to moisturize it. That's something you'll definitely have to tackle if you ever truly want to gain those inches.

If you just washed your hair , then a couple days after it starts to itch a lil even tho your hands get oily from checking your hair and it’s not dry at all , does that just mean it still needs a lil moisture if so ?
@JennJackson
@JennJackson 4 жыл бұрын
I think its related to your scalp. You could use Aloe Very Juice as it is great to scalp health. You could also have product build up too on your scalp
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 4 жыл бұрын
You scalp should only really start itching 6 or 7 days after shampooing. My scalp used to itch a lot every day or two days so I saw a trichologist. They said I had a scalp condition called "contact dermatitis". If this has been going on for longer that 3 months, please see a dermatologist or a trichologist.
