For anyone wondering, this is not trustworthy at all. They just used random dates. I believe Bowser straight up has 2 separate birthdays in the commercial. Junior is classified as a baby character in Mario Kart Tour. He can't be more than 4 or 5 years old. Bowser is at most like a year or two older than Mario, and Mario is definitely not 32 or 33

No way. Bowser Jr is likely to be 7 years old. Proof is that he looks closer to Bower when he was a baby. If he was a teenager, hed look closer to how the Koopalings look. Also Bowser's age isn't accurate when you consider Yoshi's Island being an origin story of Super Mario (which Nintendo confirmed is canon) . Both Mario and Luigi are babies in that game. Bowser is older , but not by much. He's old enough to talk but doesn't have pronounced speaking like a ten year old would. His throne room also resembles a nursery (something a ten year old would be WAY too old to have). So combine that with the baby talk , and rosey cheaks , Bowser would probably be closer to being 3 or 4 years older than Mario and Luigi, making him 28 or 29.

Simple explanation for the inconsistency: the games are on a different timeline than us. Where about 40 years have passed for us since the arcade release of SMB1, it could be that the game was meant to take place in 2001 or some random time that would make Mario not a literal baby when he fights Bowser in SMB1, and each subsequent appearance is just some unknown amount of time in the future. It’s not that deep man.

This is because bowser didn’t have the name “Bowser” until much later. He was nameless in super Mario bros and his name was king koopa in super Mario bros 3. So “bowser” being created in ‘89 checks out. But his age is still debatable. He wasn’t born a baby. He was already aged. So his age would be 34 plus whatever age he started out as.

Oh wow i missed that in the commercial. I was too busy watching the antics. The 5+ times I watched it. Good catch. Regardless though didn't that commercial come out 7+ years ago. Making Jr. 7 by that date. Real timeline isn't going to be even game timeline. Most of the characters are stuck at the same age. Miyamoto confirmed Mario is 26. Yoshi's Island DS confirmed all the core characters are the same age. Mario Galaxy reset timeline to be close but a little different. Galaxy was about 2010 so it lines up well enough.
