How old is that EliteDesk and what were the original specs?

Oh this video helped a ton. I found a cheap G1 705 2Core AMD Unit just to mess around with for $25, and the photos showed a G3 705. The serial shows a different CPU, so either these are stock photos, or I get a G3 chassis with a G1 CPU in it? Not familiar with the AMD line, I just know everyone wants the Ryzens. I'm ok with old gen stuff, since it may become some type of low end file server. Plus I'm a collector like yourself. The intel G6s are coming down in price...when they hit sub $150 USD I may snag one. I like that new cabinet design.

I7-7700 is the highest the G3 will take.

Why not go ahead and put an i7 7700T in it? 4 core and 8 threads. Mine is the 65 watt version and I put an i7 7700 in it and it is quite powerful.

@@handmedowntech Yes, in YOUR G3. If you are going for more power. It is 100% compatible as it is also a 35W cpu, 7th GEN and will work perfectly in your G3.
