The game came out 10 years prior to bannerlord, which was the reference. Not sure why this is such a hard concept. BEFORE Bannerlord was a game, we had Warband which was the entire premise of the comment

Very glad to have worked on this one, Warband was my jam from the time I was just in Middle-School all the way to the end of Highschool and even a little into working life. Safe to say It's almost harvesting season

early on, manhunters... hard to get many of them early on, except as freed prisoners, but if you can get a good core of them, you get a LOT more prisoners. (then start hunting sea raiders.)

Here's the thing about bandit camp quests in Warband, instead of guessing and roaming around the map to find it, try stalking related bandit groups, they usually gather on the location of the bandit camp. That's where the tracking skill comes in handy.

tournaments are a little simpler in warband than you think. if your team wins, you go through... if your team loses, but you scored at least one kill during the round, you go through, once. if you lose any solo round, or lose a second round after the above exception, you exit the tournament.

at least that's what i've read... though come to think of it... i might be thinking of an overhaul mod... been a while since i played native. edit: no.. pretty sure that's not pure native you're running in those tournaments, does the diplomacy mod overhaul tournaments too?

It's so insane to see Warband in 2024 and remember how many thousands of hours I spent on it, and seeing it now after playing Bannerlord... Massive improvements all around, but that "feeling" of playing Warband never left.

Not using a shield when you have crappy armor is like playing on hard mode. Until you can afford all metal armor, a shield is essential to surviving in battles.

It's not, but I assume he's using mods to make the vanilla game better, but I can't blame him. It can be bland, I didn't really see anything though with the mods that made any major changes to the vanilla flavor though.

i just realized something. in the description, that "Before Hugh of House Janus, there was Mike Oxlong." meaning that Mike Oxlong came before Hugh. in Bannerlord, the year in 1083/1084, the year in Warband is 1257.

don't fall off the ladder when sieging not the greatest time when wanting to fight, a tip for melee that works for me is counter attacking depending of course on weapon speed and start up time to finish on attacking animations block the attack then attack straight away, warning if they are better troops may need to do multiple times, wanted some cross map archer shots on some bandits just a personal preference here in settings you can turn on a hit tracker/dmg tracker of sorts so when you shoot the distance/dmg is marked on the side though it turns into a lot of spam messages keep being a chad mike oxlong

Tournament's can be tricky but best thing to remember is you can control your team same as your party in fights

Also if you get good at winning the tournament everytime you bet on yourself every round and walk away with a lot of money it's one of the fastest ways to get good money early game

There are no modlists in Warband, it only supports one module at a time. The mod name is Diplomacy I think

last comment, i'll stop spamming... it's actually easier to raise noble reputation with your enemies than your allies even in native. if they openly yield, or compliment your victory, let them go. (you want as many martial & upstanding nobles on your side as possible.) ... if they insult you, call your men dogs, decry the shame of defeat etc, then imprison them, those are the noble traits you don't want as allies, as they're more likely to rebel.

It looks like he is simply using the Diplomacy improvement mod, which is like one of the big three like "vanilla enhanced" mods. Plus this mod has a lot of features that maaaaany other mods just borrow and also use.

If I could, I'd recommend Warsword Conquest. This mod adds quite a lot, and also is Warhammer fantasy. And if you REALLY like overhauling shit, then theres the expanded submod.

Combat in warband is different from bannerlord and it's evident early on here, warband is about timing, finesse and baiting your opponent to drop their guard or swing on your block and quickly retaliate. I bannerlord it's more about volume of attacks and powerstrikes. Warband is so fkn GOATed though!
